The dispatcher is an essential part of the law enforcement team. Dispatchers act in partnership with police officers working the road by providing critical information and services, and coordinating the deployment of emergency personnel and equipment during crisis situations and routine assignments. As the lead worker, this person coordinates the work of the unit by scheduling, assigning, and reviewing work assignments, establishing priorities, and overseeing the completion of the work on an assigned shift.

EducationEducational level typically acquired through completion of high school.

ExperienceOne year of experience equivalent to an Emergency Dispatcher E8.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:Ability to work effectively under pressure and stressful situations. Ability to speak clearly and to communicate effectively with others. Ability to interpret and communicate instructions and guidelines to subordinate employees.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:Certified as a basic LEIN and TAC operator.CPR and Basic First Aid.This position requires passing a pre-employment screening, including passing a drug screen, criminal history background check
