We are looking for a Marketing Lead Seed Treatment North America to join our Agricultural Solutions team in Research Triangle Park, NC.

We have an immediate need for a Marketing Lead – Seed Treatment North America to lead a team of Product Managers in the development of BASF’s seed treatment business, including creation of a clear business & marketing plan, identification and tracking of plan metrics, financial objectives, and implementation of marketing strategies and tactics with sales, technical service, and senior management.

This role requires your willingness and ability to travel up to 25%, primarily domestically in the US.

Your strong marketing background will help you lead a team of marketing professionals in creating the marketing strategy for the North American Seed treatment business – this will contemplate competitive dynamics, investment choices and target market focus & execution over short-, medium- and longer-term time horizons. Your leadership experience will bring strong and insightful perspectives to the North American Seed Treatment Leadership Team of which you will be a member.

Your business acumen and ability to strategically analyze complex markets and summarize into concise, creative business & marketing plans to reach financial goals will be essential as you monitor and analyze market and customer dynamics and their impacts to the established market strategy and life cycle management priorities. You will also manage assigned product short and long-term supply, forecasting, and profitability by coordinating a balance between short-term operating results and long-term market share development.

Your strong organizational skills will aid you as you manage the assigned business segment including, operational forecasting, and coordinating supply requirements with market developments.

Applying your combined marketing, sales, business development and/or technical support experience you will provide strategic direction and oversight to the Marketing Communications team and Communication Agency in the execution of advertising, promotions, sponsorships, special events, collateral marketing and other promotional activities with an overall objective of conveying a unified and distinctive leadership presence in the marketplace.

Striving to consistently motivate the BASF sales force and distributors, you will keep them informed about products, innovation pipeline, product performance, and our go-to-market strategy.

Demonstrating your product launch experience, you will lead the development and update of product concepts, detailing mid and long-term strategies for lead market segments and preparing project plans for approval.

If you...

Leveraging your Bachelor Degree in Business, Agronomy or a related field and your related 10+ years' work experience, you will monitor, record and report events occurring in assigned markets -- including the collecting and recording of marketplace intelligence related to 1) competitors, their products and marketing programs; 2) trends, threats and market opportunities; 3) customer expectations; and 4) any other events/activities potentially affecting opportunities for BASF to successfully implement our seed treatment business plans. An MBA is a plus.

Any negotiation experience you may have will be a valued asset as you work alongside sales teams to evaluate, negotiate, and implement specific opportunities with distributors, retailers and key seed company accounts.

Your effective verbal and written communication skills will serve you well as you participate in ongoing customer interaction to help position BASF and our products, as well as participate in the development and implementation of industry insights and messages that are impactful for the BASF organization in identifying market and sales opportunities for BASF products.

Your previous personnel management experience will enable you to effectively lead personal development efforts including coaching, mentoring, and identification of development opportunities with the assigned team of Product Managers and the Campaign Manager. You will also identify, recruit, and develop talent for positions within the seed treatment marketing group and BASF.

Your strong customer focus will be evident as you engage and collaborate with a range of customers with the goal of contributing to the complete customer experience.

Being an excellent collaborator, you will be able to build a strong working network across a range of adjacent groups at BASF (both local, regional, and global) – this will ensure good alignment amongst teams and seamless execution of strategy in the market.
