JOB SUMMARY

Forest Lawn Memorial Parks & Mortuaries, a well-established and reputable organization, is seeking an Interior Design Assistant & Installer. This is an exciting and great opportunity to join the Facilities team!

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING

Under the direction of the Interior Design Supervisor, the Assistant and Installer will perform physical inspections of our facilities.

In addition, you will also:

Coordinate the activities involved with replacing or upgrading of furnishings, flooring, and accessories.Install and anchor artwork within all facilities and works to improve existing conditions.Assist in individual item sourcing, securing samples, and obtaining estimates from vendors.Coordinate the installation of various items with vendors related to projects and/or assignments, such as carpet flooring, fabric, wallpaper, lighting, etc.Perform physical work, such as transporting furniture pieces, carrying accessories, and picking up material orders as needed.'Develop and convey simple plans, specifications, oral instructions, and/or layouts based on the requirements of the Interior Design Supervisor.Read, understand, and use conceptual plans and related blueprints to select components for each project, site, event, or assignment.Other duties as assigned.REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

High school diploma or GED equivalent.Valid California driver's licenseMust be able to lift up to 50lbs.Ability to learn the methods, materials, tools and standard practices used in the interior design field.Ability to learn the basic of interior design products.Ability to learn research and selection techniques for furnishings, fixtures, accessories, and interior finishes.Ability to learn the basic of lighting, cabinetry, and workstation layout and design.Demonstrate tact and diplomacy when dealing with team members and internal customers.PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Some specialized training and practical/hands-on experience with installing accessories and/or coordinating work with vendors is preferred, but not required.

DRUG TESTING POLICY
