We are also especially interested in candidates who have experience working with diverse populations and/or diverse initiatives .JOB TITLE:UW Libraries Marketing InternJFNTMPJOB PURPOSE:UW Libraries is looking to fill two Marketing Assistant intern positions. Candidates should be able to work through the upcoming academic year. The Marketing Assistant interns will provide marketing and social media support for the UW Libraries. Under the supervision of the UW Libraries' Marketing & Communications Manager. These positions will each work up to 10 hours a week. Pay begins at $12.70/hour with opportunity for pay increases.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Assist MCM with marketing and promotions of UW Libraries' events - including events, programs, and other UW Libraries Initiatives.Assist MCM with market research geared towards gaining a better understanding of student interests and needs as it relates to UW Libraries services and facilities and effective and efficient marketing strategies (conduct research using a variety of methods that will include survey tools and focus groups).Write and edit press releases.Create, edit and design graphics for marketing purposes using platforms such as Canva and the Adobe Creative Suite.Assist in developing and overseeing social media marketing, including management and analysis of all UW Libraries' social platforms (Facebook, Instagram, Threads and TikTok).Occasionally document events via photography and video methods.As needed, attend meetings with MCM and UW Libraries faculty/staff.

REMOTE WORK ELIGIBILITY:This position provides vital support to campus customers and requires the successful candidate be available to work on campus.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:Demonstrated creative skillsExperience with various social media platformsStrong organizational skillsDemonstrated ability to be outgoing and engaging with students and department staffDemonstrated ability to communicate information and ideas in written and verbal format effectivelyStrong attention to detailMust be able to work 10 hours a weekHigh school diploma/G.E.D.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:Basic photography/video skillsEnthusiasm for social media and marketingExperience using social media platforms to achieve marketing goalsProject and time management experienceDemonstrated experience with Canva, Adobe Creative Cloud, or similar application.Good technical understanding and ability to pick up new tools quicklySophomore status or above preferred
