Position Summary:

The Birmingham Squadron, entering it's 3rd season in the NBA G-League, is seeking an individual enthusiastic about social media with a focus on increasing fan interaction to join the team. This entry level

Social Media Coordinator

role will be responsible for supporting the Marketing Manager and the PR/Broadcast Manager with a variety of projects, and will play an integral role in the teams' social media platforms and success. Our ideal candidate has a fantastic attitude and a willingness to learn and grow, and wants to be a part of a small but growing team.

What you will be doing:

Support Marketing Manager and Public Relations/Broadcast Manager on a day to day basis with various departmental needsAssist with social media needs:

Content and video creation, including editing basic content for all Squadron social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, TikTok).Capturing player and practice footageAssist with planning the in-game social content and shot listCapture and create content for social on all game days (both home and away - no travel required)Creation and implementation of away game strategies for social media

Assist marketing manager with execution of social media calendarDevelop and execute creative collateral for Ticketing and Corporate Partnerships teams, including slide decks, pitches, proposals and graphicsAssist with Community Relations department as needed

Build and develop creatives for community eventsAssist at activations if needed

What you'll bring:

Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Communications, or Business is preferredAt least 1 year of experience supporting social media content, public relations, or communicationsWorking knowledge of the Adobe Creative SuiteAdaptable and willing to learnAbility to work both independtly and with others, as well as in a small team settingPositive attitude and eagerness to work in a startup sports organization
