Multimedia AssistantBlock by Block Creative helps nonprofits, campaigns, NGOs, and other mission-driven organizations connect to audiences through creative storytelling. We seek a Multimedia Assistant to support our team in building stories across multiple modes of content including videos, stills, audio, and web. The Multimedia Assistant fills a key role that allows our creative team to complete projects in a robust and creative way. The Multimedia Assistant is responsible for ingesting and organizing media, finalizing videos and managing our accessibility workflows, and handling a variety of admin tasks.This is a great gig for recent graduates, those who are re-entering the workforce, or those who value a flexible schedule, and for those who are interested in communications, film, television, news, social and digital media and related fields. We value professional experience as well as life experience, and encourage you to apply if you have knowledge or experiences in our key issue areas: criminal justice reform, disability rights, environmental justice, democracy protection, and science communications.Bottom line - if you care about the causes that we do, share our passion for creative media making, need a flexible schedule, and aren’t afraid of (and maybe kinda love) spreadsheets, this is for you!This is a remote contract position, up to 32 hours per week at $25/hr and with an initial 3 month contract starting as soon as September 2024, with the possibility of expanded hours and an extension beyond the initial period.We run a highly collaborative remote team working on multiple projects at once. We ask that you attend our weekly team meetings and occasional ad hoc meetings or trainings online. While working on your own flexible schedule, you must be available during core weekday hours to complete assignments and make deadlines.The Multimedia Assistant supports the entire creative team by:Ingesting and logging video media, using Adobe Premiere ProOrganizing all projects, media, and transcripts for use by the entire team.Keeping cloud-based content storage organized.Distributing media to the editorial team.Organizing release forms and cast lists.Organizing expenses.Gathering archival and stock images, footage, and music.Facilitating our accessibility workflows for sign language, captioning, subtitling, and audio description.Creating final deliverables and archiving projects.Light administrative duties related to content creation.Additional related duties as assigned by the creative team.RequirementsVery good at working on your Apple computer.Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and willingness to learn new things.Excellent writing skills and command of English.Bilingual English/Spanish or English/French a plus, but not required.ASL a plus, but not required.Interest in BxB issues and design, storytelling, or communications.Willingness to wear many hats and work collaboratively on a team, while being able to work self-directed when necessary.Experience with Adobe Premiere Pro and Google Drive.
