We have an exciting opportunity on our team as a

Marketing and Communications Manager ! This position is located in Midland, MI. As the Marketing and Communications Manager, your primary role is to develop and implement strategies to promote the organization's products and services, as well as attract and retain customers. This position will work closely with various teams, including but not limited to, sales, public relations, product and research development. Collaboration is key in this position to ensure that the organization's marketing and messaging are aligned with the overall goals and strategies.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES

Determines and implements short and long-term strategic objectives and/or goals in collaboration with senior marketing and sales teams.

Has a working understanding of how Savant group differentiates its business from industry competitors.

Estimates market demand along with sales and research and development teams for business strategy inputs.

Stays current to communication and advertising trends in the industry.

Designing, managing, and evaluating marketing campaigns.

Directing social media engagement strategies with a team of direct reports.

Creates, develops, designs, and communicates all marketing materials such as advertising documents, brochures, flyers, booklets, internal documentation, and others.

Manages SEO strategies for improved customer visibility.

Builds, maintains, and strengthens elements of communication, identifies gaps or changes as necessary.

Develops and manages budgets for all marketing related activities.

Reviews advertising media with vendors prior to releases.

Maintains, monitors, and promotes the Savant Group on all social media pages and/or platforms (i.e. increases awareness, maintains distribution, promotes recruiting, events or other activities.)

Conducts a regular competitive review of websites, social media, campaign management and online/print advertising.

Ensures external media is current to products and services.

Standardizes processes and development work with vendors to improve efficiencies within marketing, promotions, and KPI/Metric capturing.

Facilitates, prepares, coordinates and plans training events for both domestic and international customers and/or distributors when necessary. Assists with coordination of attendance, creating presentations/topics, shipping inventory, reviewing budget or other factors.

Proactively organizes and attends trade shows and exhibitions.

Ensures customer contacts are maintained in collaboration with sales.

Monitors contact KPI/measurements gains and losses.

Manages marketing material inventory and ensures tracking is in place.

Provides oversight to E-commerce websites.

Participates in monthly management meetings to provide updates and coordination of activities.

Directs and manages employees with support from human resources.

ADDITIONAL JOB DUTIES

Works closely with the director of sales and marketing to coordinate and plan customer visits and/or training events.

Collaborates and develops strategic objectives or goals with the sales director annually or as needed.

Gathers and maintains feedback received from training events, provides recommendations, and implements changes as necessary.

Researches and registers the Savant Group for relevant trade shows that align with the business’ objectives as necessary.

Present to internal/external audiences as needed or required.

JOB SPECIFICATIONS

EDUCATION/CERTIFICATIONS:

Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, communications, or related field required.

LICENSURE:

Valid driver’s license.

EXPERIENCE:

Ten years’ experience in marketing and communications is preferred along with at least five years of direct people management experience.

SKILLS

Acts as a representative of the Savant Group, adhering to our mission, values, and core values.

Possess a cultural competency and the ability to work professionally when communicating in a culturally sensitive manner with both individuals and groups from diverse backgrounds.

Familiarity with the fundamental principles, strategies, and methodologies associated with public relations, marketing, and communications.

Uses logic and reasoning to understand, analyze, evaluate situations, and prepares research to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches.

Strong ability to effectively and efficiently use all Microsoft Office applications including but not limited to: Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Publisher. Other software may include Adobe Creative Suite or other graphic design software.

Strong design skillset for all media outputs.

Strong project management skills with the ability to meet deadlines and work through last-minute changes as necessary.

Ability to foster good team dynamics, collaboration, and be flexible implementing daily work.

Ability to communicate and collaborate with all levels of the company to finish projects and/or achieve specific goals.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills with internal, domestic, and global contacts.

Strong attention to detail with strong proof-reading skills.

Ability to research communication and technological trends and apply best practices to all projects.

Exceptional organizational and leadership skills.

Confident public speaking and presentation skills.

Possess a self-starter and can-do attitude. Ability to take the initiative without being told what to do in every situation.

Self-motivated and the ability to handle unforeseen problems and strong decision-making skills. Does not wait to be told what to do and can work independently.

PHYSICAL EFFORTS:

Must be able to move/lift equipment weighing up to 50lbs. Other physical efforts may include but not limited to carrying weight, lifting, seeing, hearing, talking, sitting, standing, walking, reaching, climbing, stooping, crawling, kneeling, pushing, pulling, repetitive motion/dexterity, and other physical requirements as required by the position.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

Due to the environment, working conditions may include but not limited to exposure to chemicals, regularly exposed to dust, odors, oil, spills, fumes, and noise.

SAFETY MEASURES:

All employees are expected to follow safety procedures and regulations at all times.

HOURS OF WORK:

Full-time with a typical schedule of Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Some nights and weekends may be required.

TRAVEL:

Reliable transportation is required. Both domestic and international travel might be required, constituting up to ten (10) percent of the time.
