as the Best Law Firm of 2023, is seeking an experienced Marketing and Business Development (BD) Manager to help drive branding and BD initiatives for its 330-lawyer Atlanta office. The candidate will work across all firm practices including disputes, transactional and regulatory investigations on a variety of marketing and BD operations spanning internal and external engagement for the Atlanta office. The candidate will provide marketing and BD support, alongside the practice group and industry group BD leads as appropriate, related to Atlanta internal and external events, directory and award submissions, marketing materials, pitches and RFPs, and competitive intelligence research.The Manager will work closely with the Atlanta office Managing Partner, Atlanta Partners, and Senior Managers of the Marketing and BD team to support strategic initiatives and profile-raising efforts within the Atlanta market.The ideal candidate is a professional, self-starting, driven, strong project manager with attention to detail, who is forward-thinking and energetic. The candidate will bring at least 5-7 years’ experience in a comparable role within a law firm or professional services environment.Key Responsibilities:

The Marketing and BD Manager will serve as a central point of contact for the Atlanta office’s marketing and BD efforts and will have the following responsibilities:Develop a deep understanding of the firm’s and Atlanta offices’ capabilities and industry groups’ goals and clients so as to support brand-building and cross-selling initiatives, and draft compelling content.Assist Atlanta office Managing Partner and select Atlanta Partners on building forward-looking office meeting agendas and internal communications to scorecard and drive progress against office initiatives and client targets.Support Atlanta office’s civic and professional relationships to drive growth and coordinate the Atlanta office marketing budget – vetting big-ticket requests and analyzing marketing expenses and ROI.Work with the events and conference center teams to coordinate and provide support for King & Spalding Atlanta hosted client, internal, and external events including meetings, seminars, receptions, and dinners; coordinating and developing invitations and other event/content materials with the branding and marketing technology teams, as well as tracking and assisting with follow-up activities.Coordinate and support activities involved with relevant sponsorships such as identifying relevant opportunities, processing payments, fulfilling sponsorship benefits including ads and logos, and promoting K&S lawyer participation.Conduct research on a variety of topics including prospective and current clients, competitors and industry/market trends to aid in the development of client teams, pitches, RFP responses, and other internal and external marketing initiatives.Compile and maintain marketing materials including PowerPoint presentations, fact sheets, content for the website, and other custom materials, and work with Branding and Design to apply brand standards and firm templates to projects.Routinely gather and centralize experience lists for use in pitches, proposals, submissions and other materials, including regularly updating key data such as trial wins and case trackers for experience database and the creation of tombstones.Utilize Microsoft Dynamics (the firm’s CRM system), Foundation (the firm’s Experience Management System), and other firm technology to meet job requirements with an expectation to become an expert in these systems over time.Coordinate with communications team and other BD Managers to compile information and draft submissions related to legal directories and awards, such as

Law360 .Assist with lateral onboarding activities, including drafting bios and tracking client targeting outreach and efforts.Support the Atlanta office marketing efforts on strategic client and growth targeting efforts, including cross-selling and identifying business trends and opportunities to support the business.Qualifications:

Successful candidates are forward thinking, positive, energetic and detail oriented. Candidates must have the ability to work well with various stakeholders within the firm, have proven project management skills in a fast-paced environment and have great judgment and communication skills. Knowledge of marketing and BD-related activities is required. Requirements:Exemplary interpersonal and communication skills—both verbal and in writing, have excellent attention to detail, the ability to work collaboratively as part of a team, work well under pressure, ability to manage time-sensitive deadlines across practices and incorporate feedback into their performance.Strong capabilities in Microsoft Office and proficiency with client/contact relationship management databases, such as Microsoft Dynamics.Excellent editing and proofreading skills.A demonstrated capacity to self-start and work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, high-volume environment while interacting credibly and diplomatically with all levels in an organization, and be curious, resourceful, and proactive.Bachelor’s degree.At least 5-7 years of marketing and/or business development experience preferred.Law firm and/or professional service experience is preferred.The firm offers a generous total compensation package with bonuses and raises awarded in recognition of individual merit-based performance.
