Salary: $15.00 Hourly Location : Wilmington - Downtown Campus, NC Job Type: Part Time Staff Job Number: 21-00235 Division: President's Office Opening Date: 02/07/2023 Closing Date: Continuous Position Description DEFINITION: To assist in design, social media, marketing and public relations efforts for the Wilson Center and Wilma Daniels Gallery; support Wilson Center assessment initiatives. SUPERVISION RECEIVED AND EXERCISED: Receives general direction and supervision by the Wilson Center Communications Manager and Marketing Manager. Exercises supervision over Volunteer Street Team, assist with support for marketing interns. Duties & Responsibilities (Essential Functions) ESSENTIAL AND OTHER IMPORTANT FUNCTIONS: Essential and other important responsibilities and duties may include, but are not limited to, the following: Assist in design and distribution for all print pieces, including season brochures, mailings, and playbills. Assist in writing, editing, creating, and maintaining content for the Wilson Center and Gallery Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and all other social media accounts. Assist in coordination for publicity, photography/videography, and generate media exposure through general press releases and focused pitches. Coordinate and manage inventory of marketing related equipment. Cultivate and maintain positive relationships with audiences using traditional and innovative communication and retention techniques, including e-newsletters and social media. Assist in planning and implementing group sales marketing and special audience engagement events. Maintain all virtual community calendars and presences. Assist in maintaining Center archives. Be vigilant and proactive in anticipating and meeting client and guest needs. Maintain a clean driving record in order to operate all vehicles, including 15 passenger vans. Other Important Functions: Perform other related duties and responsibilities as assigned Qualifications QUALIFICATIONS: Knowledge of: Adobe Creative Suite (Adobe Creative Cloud) Current trends, research, and development in the area of assignment. Industry specific requirements, technology and equipment utilized. North Carolina traffic laws and driving rules. Ability to: Interpret and apply CFCC goals, objectives, policies, procedures, rules, and regulations Lift up to 50 or more pounds. Embody and demonstrate exceptional customer service skills, even in stressful and/or demanding situations. Establish and maintain effective working relationships with those contacted in the course of work including artists, agents, rental clients, donors, high profile clients and guests, students, college faculty and staff, and the general public. Assist in training and supervision. Understand and follow oral and written instructions. Communicate clearly both orally and in writing. Create and maintain accurate records and reports. Perform mathematical computations. Work weekends and/or evening hours as required. Maintain effective audio-visual discrimination and perception needed for: making observations communicating with others reading and writing examining incoming equipment, materials and supplies Handling varied tasks simultaneously Maintain physical condition appropriate to the performance of assigned duties and responsibilities, which include the following: Walking, standing or sitting for extended periods of time Operating assigned equipment Lifting, stooping, climbing, bending and carrying materials, or lifting up to 50 pounds Maintain mental capacity, which allows the capability of: Making sound decisions Working in a fast-paced environment Responding to questions Demonstrating intellectual capabilities EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING GUIDELINES: Any combination of experience and training that would likely provide the required knowledge and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to obtain the knowledge and abilities would be: Minimum Education/Training: High School Diploma or Equivalent Minimum Experience : Must be a minimum of 18 years of age One (1) year experience in Customer Service Clean driving record. No traffic moving violations Design experience is required Preferred Education/Training, Experience, Skills : Performing arts venue experience is preferred Experience with photography, videography, and video editing is preferred Optional Information Request that applications be accompanied with a link to professional portfolio or a sample work (website or .pdf portfolio).
