Sr. Director of Observability, Product Marketing

Reporting to the VP of Product Marketing, this role will provide strategic planning and tactical execution of content development, sales enablement, subject matter expertise, and customer engagement for Sumo Logic (across IT Ops/DevOps and SRE personas). The successful candidate will bring a deep knowledge of cloud-native applications, application development, reliability, and troubleshooting. This leader will quickly gain credibility with sales and customers as the subject matter expert and drive thought leadership and compelling, differentiated market messaging.Key Responsibilities:Develop integrated marketing plans through deep engagement with product management, sales and other marketing teams.Develop technical sales and marketing collateral, including presentations, benchmarks, blogs, white papers, videos, and field training courses.Support customer meetings, analyst briefings, and enablement as a spokesperson.Deliver enablement to sales, sales engineering and partners.Develop competitive assessments and creative collateral to position Sumo uniquely in the minds of analytics practitioners.Evangelize Sumo Logic in ecosystem/partnering activities.Optimize prospect, user, and sales funnels with strategies, tools, and assets.Drive integrated communications initiatives with other businesses and teams across internal and partner ecosystem.Support global cross-functional product launches.Support technology alliance strategy and impact for Sumo Logic.Desired Qualifications, Skills and Experience:Minimum 7+ years experience in product management or product marketing or sales engineering or technical marketing roles with a complex SaaS offering geared to a DevOps audience and product slant.Knowledge of the cloud, infrastructure, and observability ecosystems.Exceptional written and oral communication skills to evangelize how Sumo excels at offerings for the various IT Operations persona both internally and externally.Highly technical to independently develop demos, webinars, videos, technical collateral, ROI/value-oriented assessments, etc.Highly collaborative work style to learn from others and build upon their ideas.Passion for driving product innovation and to effectively communicate cross-functionally within Product Development, Engineering, Marketing, and Sales.Curiosity to learn the intricacies of Sumo Logic's business and adapt past experiences to Sumo Logic's current opportunities.Technical undergraduate degree.About Us:Sumo Logic, Inc. empowers the people who power modern, digital business. Compensation varies based on a variety of factors which include (but aren’t limited to) role level, skills and competencies, qualifications, knowledge, location, and experience. In addition to base pay, certain roles are eligible to participate in our bonus or commission plans, as well as our benefits offerings, and equity awards.
