The Bowen Group, a values-led, industry leader in telehealth, strategic communications, and wellness services and staffing is searching for a Junior Graphic Designer. This is a full-time hybrid position located in the NOLA-DMV area. This role will be mostly remote with in person meetings in Chantilly, VA as needed.

Primary Responsibilities:

Supporting the daily graphic design requirements for GTSC family of companies.

Designing accessible collateral products, for websites, employee resource pages and eNewsletters.

Researching and providing images for websites and social media platforms.

Working collaboratively with the cross-functional team supporting this work, including the project/strategic communications lead, the writer, the editor, the accessibility specialist and the development team.

Working within the project management system to ensure all assigned tasks and projects are completed on time.

Perform other duties as requested.

Qualifications:

Bachelors degree, or an equivalent amount of experience (additional education can substitute for experience).

At least three years of experience in developing and maintaining website portals.

Must be a U.S. citizen

Must be able to obtain a favorable background check

Industry Knowledge:

Execution of design techniques, tools and principles including: execution of typography, visual hierarchy, composition and color for print and web.

Conceptual Thought: developing creative concepts that effectively solve a client's needs.

Proficiency using WordPress, Adobe Creative Suite such as InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop as well as digital design tools such as Sketch and Adobe XD.

Solid understanding of print production processes.

Working knowledge of accesability standards for federal government.

Technical skills and deliverables: organize and produce industry standard files and deliverables using to clients.

Principles and processes for providing customer services, including needs assessment, meeting quality assurance standards, and resolving internal and external customer requests.

Terms and concepts commonly expressed in the Armed Services and federal government.

Microsoft Office familiarity.

Skills in:

Designing user-friendly, effective and appealing products that communicate specific educational or promotional needs.

Generating concepts and determining the best visual communication strategy and solution for branding, print and web products.

Developing logos and visual brands using established logo design process.

Establishing style guide requirements for new brands.

Ensuring visual consistency across a wide range of projects based on established style guides.

Designing print material for use in physical and electronic format (booklets, brochure, posters, etc.).

Defining print specifications and review printer proofs.

Creating moodboards, wireframes, mock ups and prototypes to communicate interaction and design ideas.

Designing interactive elements for digital media (form fields, buttons, menus, etc.).

Designing and optimizing graphics and images for use on online social media platforms.

Developing web style guide for developers.

Design file organization based on established process.

Updating and maintaining websites.

Ability to :

Presenting designs and key deliverables to peers and senior level stakeholders

Other Requirements:

Efficiency and Time Management: Maintain expertise in software systems. Ensure a streamlined flow and process, work quickly, stay abreast of design trends and innovations and learn new software quickly. Multitask in a fast paced environment.

Quality Assurance Regulation: Support quality assurance programs. Support quality control policies and procedures through the adherence to quality standards. Ensure that all deliverables adhere to established policy and stylistic standards, acute attention to detail, ensure visual consistency.

File Management: Adhere to the file structure set in place for Creative Services; load all current/working files to the Design Server at the end of every workday. Keep software files organized. Load final client files to cloud platforms and update as needed.

Section 508 Compliance:Ensure all documents are prepared and finalized in accordance with Section 508 compliance requirements. Analyze documents for Section 508 compliance and troubleshoot accessibility issues with these documents.
