Textile Designer
to join our Rug Design Team. This is a hybrid position based out of our West Warwick, RI corporate headquarters. The primary function of this role will be to take the lead in the design and development of printed, woven, and tufted rugs under the guidance of the Design Director. This role will also review work and provide mentorship to Designers.What you'll do:Oversee designs throughout the product development cycle of concept and presentation to production; effectively communicating with the sales team and our global network of suppliers throughout the processCreate and color artwork for printed, woven, and tufted rug applicationsPut together and deliver design presentations for sales meetings and Home Fashion MarketsWork collaboratively with the design team on all presentations and designsApprove samples upon arrival; make comments/revisions as neededStay informed of trends in home interior markets across multiple customer basesMeet with sales staff and clients to gain an understanding of scope of work neededGenerate design ideas based on key trends and customer requestsAssist the Design Director in putting together Color and Trend presentations for sales meetings and Home Fashion MarketsCreate production files and spec sheets for factoriesTravel to relevant stores and designs shows to research new and relevant trendsReview work and provide mentorship to DesignersAssist with other projects or duties as assigned by Design DirectorWhat you'll have:Bachelor's degree in design, art, or related fieldA minimum of 3 years of industry experience preferredExpert level experience in Photoshop and IllustratorStrong knowledge and experience using Microsoft Office programsA background in rugs and using Ned Graphics/Texcelle is a plusWhat you're good at:Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skillsCreating and delivering oral presentationsCritical eye with the ability to comprehend pattern in repeat, scale, and colorStrong organizational and problem-solving skills with the ability to prioritize and manage a workload effectivelyMeticulous attention to detailAbility to work well under pressure and meet tight deadlinesGenuine enthusiasm and desire to mentor other designersAdaptable and reliable with the ability to self-direct as well as collaborate effectively as part of a teamAPPLY TODAY!
