Designer

Position Summary:Applies engineering and design principles for the design of military vehicles and their components or assemblies. Generate 3D solid models and assemblies of various vehicle components, create 2D drawings of models developed by yourself or other designers, perform checker changes to drawings and models per checker mark-ups, learn from more experienced designers, engineers, and design leaders to grow and advance design skills.Position Responsibilities:Modify existing 3D ModelsCreate 3D models of components from a 2D drawingCreate 3D models with guidance and as instructedCreate 2D drawings of components and assembliesUpdate file attributes in Teamcenter and or WindchillWill be expected to create 3D parametric models using best practice modeling techniques that allow for easy editing by other designers in the futureCreate new parts and revise items in Teamcenter and or WindchillApply AM General Standards and Procedures as outlined per program requirementsGenerate assembly bill of materials (BOMs) in both CAD and TeamcenterAbility to work effectively in a team environment with various stakeholders by regularly communicating project status, design issues, and path forwardPosition Requirements:Associate degree or formal CAD training in CREO. Entry level candidates shall be considered, prior education and/or training required1 year of experience creating models and drawings in CREO(CREO Parametric 5.0 or newer, CREO 7 or 8 preferred)Ability and willingness to learn and retain Design skills and methodsFamiliarity of Teamcenter Visualization and basic applications is desirableFamiliarity of PDM/PLM systems, Teamcenter and/or Windchill applications is desirableFamiliar with GD&T, descriptive geometry, CREO 2D drawing packageAbility to create 3D models of simple componentsAbility to generate simple 2D drawings and make changes to more complex drawings based on checker mark-upsBasic skills with Microsoft Office software
