The Apparel/Accessories Associate Designer will support the Design Team in all phases of the design process by creating and revising flat sketches as directed.
Responsibilities
Create original flat sketches based on existing trends and mainstream designsAssist Design Team with fabric, trim, and embellishment researchCreate tech packs with detailed specifications that include garment measurements, construction details, and trim/fabric informationTrack development samples to ensure samples are received on timeSpec proto samples to ensure they are up to measurement, pattern, color, and quality standardsActively participate and take detailed notes in meetingsOrganize and maintain fabric, trim, and sample libraries for easy access and referenceResearch trends and bring in new ideas through competitive shopping, magazines, websites, and runway showsQualifications
Must have a Bachelor or Associates degree in Fashion Apparel DesignMust have 1-2 years of Fashion Design experienceAbility to sketch by hand and/or with IllustratorMust be proficient in Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, Excel, and WordMust have strong interest in fashion design, commercial color sense, pattern merchandising ability, and general market knowledgeBasic garment construction knowledge requiredMust be self-motivated with the ability to work independentlyMust be a team player, open to taking direction, and able to work well under pressure

ADDITIONAL DATA:
The salary range for this position is $25 - $30 per hour. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to position offered and work experience. In addition to your salary, Forever 21, and its affiliated brands, offers a benefits package, including 401(k) plan, overtime pay, flexible work schedule and a generous employee discount program (all benefits are based on eligibility).
