The Marketing Coordinator position is responsible for the execution of tactical marketing efforts across social media, web, and email marketing platforms, as well as monitoring online customer service channels. This individual will also be expected to support the Marketing department with on-site events and off-site festivals. This is a great opportunity for someone in the early stages of their marketing career who is looking to build their skills in a variety of marketing specialties.

Essential Functions

Scheduling posts and monitoring social media content across Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn and YouTube. Monitor comments and respond or escalate where appropriate.Monitoring, responding to, and escalating, where appropriate, customer service inquiries through social media messenger platforms and review sites including Yelp, TripAdvisor, and Google.Supporting the Marketing Specialist with the creation of brand photography and videography for both social media and the website.Supporting the Digital Marketing Manager with formatting and scheduling e-blast content via Constant Contact.Coordinating in-house communication for events and experiences through input and management of graphics, web, and marketing requests.Formatting and posting blogs and other web content on the OSC website.Supporting Marketing Department during onsite weekend events with the creation of photography and videos.Support the Marketing Department in coordinating and staffing off-site festivals and events, such as Kids Fringe, Maker Faire, the ZORA! Festival, Kids & Family Expo, and others as needed.Supporting the Marketing Department by taking notes during marketing meetings.Monitoring marketing materials in on-site and off-site locations, coordinating the replenishment of materials as needed, including distribution of Science for All materials at multiple locations.Performs other related duties as assigned.Minimum Qualifications

Education:

Earned or pursuing a bachelor’s degree in marketing, public relations, communications, or another related field.Experience & Certifications : N/APreferred Qualifications

Experience using Facebook’s Meta Business Suite and other social media platforms.Experience using Wordpress and HootsuiteExperience using Microsoft Teams or other related internal communications platform.Should be comfortable using a DSLR camera.Should be comfortable appearing on camera as a representative of the Science Center, primarily on social media platforms.Excellent written and oral communication skills.Highly organized, attention to detail a must.Must be resourceful, a self-starter and can take initiative.Supervisory Responsibility

Expected Hours of Work

The Marketing Department is involved with promoting all Orlando Science Center exhibits, experiences and events and days and hours will fluctuate as needed. This position will operate primarily Tuesday – Saturday from 9:00 am to 5:30 pm.Travel

Travel throughout the Central Florida area to support offsite events and delivering materials as well as potentially attend conferences/trainings.Telecommuting

This position is required to be onsite 100% of the time.
