Position Overview
Interior Design Intern:
Position Overview: Shaw Commercial is a global design leader in commercial flooring for some of the world’s most creative and innovative environments. Our vast, sustainable product offerings can be found in diverse markets such as workplace, healthcare, hospitality, education, and multi-family dwellings; supporting the spaces in which we work, learn, live, play and heal. With over 400 account managers across the globe, the Interior Design department provides design solutions for our flooring in collaboration with our account managers and their customers. The Interior Design Intern will work with the interior design team on assignments that will support two key initiatives: Customer Experience and Multiplying Industry Partnerships.
Our ideal candidate will be someone who wants to learn about many areas of our business. We are seeking a candidate who constantly challenges the status quo and brings new thoughts and ideas to the conversation.
Responsibilities:
Collaborate with Interior Design, Research & Design, and Marketing teams to develop, collect and outline trends for upcoming forecast.
Assist with creating customer concept presentations and internal training presentations.
Manage material closet.
Assist with preparation for customer visits.
Assist with LevelONE Interior Design requests – includes selection of coordinating products, product replacements, palettes.
Assist with LevelTWO Interior Design requests – includes making initial product selections and collaborating with Designer on final deliverables.
Assist with capturing final product selections in Salesforce to provide market insight
Other assignments within Interior Design/Marketing Product Launch to be identified.
Position Requirements:
Pursuing a bachelor’s degree of Interior Design or Interior Architecture from a CIDA accredited college/university and/or Architecture from a NAAB accredited college/university or Textile Design
Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
High interest in interior design profession
Positive personality and can-do attitude
Possess good time management skills, multi-tasker, and ability to meet deadlines
General knowledge of Microsoft 365, Adobe Creative Suite, Revit, and CAD are beneficial but not required 8. In-office presence required; flexibility available Required
Travel - 0%
Report to Senior Designer Time Frame: September – December 2024; 40 hours/week - overtime when needed
