22035BR HVAC Technician I (Readvertisement)Herndon Support Center Description Performs the skilled journey-level work required to install, modify, inspect, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain heating, ventilation, air-conditioning, refrigeration equipment (HVACR), and direct digital controls (DDC) systems. Qualifications Required Any combination of education and experience equivalent to graduation from high school or possession of a General Equivalency Diploma (GED) certificate. Two (2) years of experience in the air conditioning or HVACR trade at the apprentice II or equivalent level. Possession of a valid EPA-approved universal refrigerant recovery certification to include types I, II, and III. Possession of an appropriate, valid motor vehicle operator's license with a good driving record. May be required to work an evening and/or night shift on a regular or rotating basis, accept call-back overtime or regular overtime, and/or agree to assume an emergency call-out list status. Knowledge of the methods and skills used in the repair and preventive maintenance of HVACR or trade-related components, systems, and equipment, to include application-specific and basic computer programs. Knowledge of local, state, and national codes and of common hazards and safety precautions. Ability to read and interpret instructions, diagrams, sketches, blueprints, and manufacturers' manuals. Capability to estimate time and material needs, determine when the repair is not economically practical, and perform routine tasks and arithmetic computations. Preferred Completion of an acceptable apprentice-level HVACR training program.
