All Chicago employees are in the office on Wednesdays and Thursdays. While our office is open 5 days a week, we allow you to choose what works best for you on Monday, Tuesday and Friday.

Our office is in the heart of the Loop within 10 minutes of the Metra and all "EL" trains. And, we have lots (and lots) of snacks.

This is a hybrid role with our office being in downtown Chicago, IL.

Job Overview:

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Content Manager to join our B2B SaaS company, specializing in AI-powered software for law firms. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in content marketing, with expertise in audience research, engagement, and SEO. This role involves developing a content strategy that aligns with our business goals, understanding and segmenting our target audiences, and creating compelling, relevant content tailored to each unique segment. Success in this position requires excellent writing and strategic skills, along with the ability to manage multiple projects and freelancers simultaneously.

Key Responsibilities:

Audience Research & Analysis:Conduct thorough research to understand the needs, preferences, and pain points of our target audiences within the legal sector.Utilize analytics tools and market research to gather insights and inform content strategies.Execute insightful, relevant surveys leading to the creation proprietary insights and impactful content.Content Strategy Development:Develop and implement a comprehensive content strategy that supports the company's business goals and enhances brand awareness.Create a content calendar to ensure consistent publishing and promotion of high-quality content across various channels.Content Creation & Management:Write, edit, and publish engaging and informative content including blog posts, whitepapers, case studies, eBooks, infographics, videos, scripts, and more.Work closely with the product marketing and client success teams to generate content ideas and ensure messaging alignment.SEO Optimization:Strategically integrate keywords into content to improve search engine rankings and drive organic traffic.Conduct regular SEO audits to identify opportunities for optimization and ensure all content meets SEO best practices.Performance Measurement & Reporting:Monitor and analyze the performance of content marketing efforts using tools like Google Analytics, SEMrush, and HubSpot.Provide regular reports and insights to the Marketing Director, highlighting key metrics, trends, and opportunities for improvement.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, or a related field.3+ years of experience in content marketing, preferably in the legal (software) industry.Proven track record of developing and executing successful content marketing strategies.Strong understanding of SEO principles and experience with keyword research and integration.Excellent writing, editing, and communication skills.Proficiency in using content management systems (CMS) and marketing automation tools.Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.Analytical skills and experience with data-driven decision making.

Preferred Skills:

Experience with legal industry content and familiarity with legal software solutions.Knowledge of content distribution and promotion techniques.Familiarity with graphic design tools (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite) and basic HTML/CSS.Life at Smokeball
