We are seeking a Commercial Truss Designer to add to our growing business. Industries served include multifamily/senior living, educational, institutional, military, industrial, and general/light commercial. We have a fun, relaxed, and collaborative work environment that has created a winning team and an extremely loyal customer base.This position will work with commercial construction building plans to create detailed cold-formed steel truss designs for commercial building projects. Role includes:

Read and interpret construction documents and specifications to input and create a 3D truss framing plan using Computer Aided Design (CAD) software.

During design process, collaborate with internal sales staff as well as external contractors, architects, and structural engineers to aid in the creation of truss submittal packages for review/approval by the building design team. Our goal is to create efficient and optimized engineered truss framing plans and installation instructions for field use by installation contractors.

Collaborate with 3rd party engineering firms to create custom truss bracing plans and structural truss connection details for a safe and structurally sound installation by framing crews.

Generate bills of materials and purchase orders for items required for fabrication and accessory items to be supplied with order package.

During the truss installation process, the Truss Designer may field questions via email or phone call from the framing contractors. The Truss Designer will help in identifying field conflicts and create solutions to ensure a smooth installation process for our customers.

Own and manage each truss project so that the customer has an on-time, safe, and accurate installation. This ensures customer satisfaction and builds customer loyalty, as we continue to expand our geographical footprint at the national level.

A related associate or bachelor's degree is a plus but not required for this position. We will consider candidates with a relevant work history.Preferred qualifications include:

Familiarity with the construction industry and/or hands on field experience

Strong math skills with a basic understanding of engineering / physics.

AutoCAD, Revit or other comparable design software experience

Excellent written/verbal communication and customer service skills

Experience reading and interpreting construction/technical documents

Detail oriented with strong organizational skills
