Role OverviewThe Head of Accounts is a senior leadership position responsible for setting the strategic direction for account management, driving business growth, and ensuring the delivery of exceptional creative solutions. This role requires a dynamic leader who can balance client needs with agency capabilities while fostering a collaborative and innovative environment. The ideal candidate will be both a coach and a player, capable of managing teams while also executing key initiatives.Key Responsibilities:Client Relationship Management:Develop and maintain strong, long-term relationships with key clients.Serve as the primary point of contact for high-level client communications.Identify and pursue opportunities for account growth and expansion.Provide strategic counsel to clients on industry trends, best practices, and innovative solutions.Team Leadership:Set direction for account management workflow, ensuring consistency and excellence across the department.Build and implement training programs to grow staff at all levels, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.Mentor and guide a team comprised of personnel that spans across client service, project management and strategy & insights; instilling best practices and driving performance.Foster a culture of creativity, innovation, and excellence within the account team.Collaborate with creative, strategy, and production teams to ensure seamless project execution.Creative Support:Collaborate with the Group Creative Director to ensure the Account & Strategy team delivers smart, insightful, and strategically aligned creative briefs.Offer creative thinking and constructive feedback to continuously elevate the quality of work across the agency.Ensure that all creative solutions are not only innovative but also strategically sound and aligned with client objectives.Business Development:Drive revenue management across accounts by retaining and growing existing client relationships and helping to win and expand new accounts.While the predominant focus will be on “same store growth” / growing existing clients, there may be additional opportunities to contribute to new business pitches and presentations, leveraging your deep industry knowledge and client relationships.Strategic Planning:Work closely with clients to understand their business objectives and challenges.Develop comprehensive marketing and communication strategies that align with client goals and drive measurable results.Lead the development of creative solutions that meet client needs while pushing the boundaries of innovation.Understand and analyze media plans and media reports.Leverage data from these reports to inform and enhance creative strategies.Ensure alignment between creative development and media objectives to drive optimal performance.Orchestrate internal support for the client and agency to solve high level strategic challenges, from measurement to creative to deliver consistent goals and objectives on a macro and micro basisFinancial Management:Oversee account profitability and financial performance, ensuring that all accounts meet or exceed financial targets.Manage budgets, forecasts, and resource allocation across accounts, optimizing efficiency and effectiveness.Negotiate contracts and pricing with clients to ensure mutually beneficial agreements.Location & Travel Requirements:Our team is fully remote, with the majority based in Los Angeles. For this role, we are seeking someone based in the LA area to accommodate key client meetings.This role also requires openness to travel for new business meetings, client meetings, and offsites across the country.Qualifications:10+ years of experience in account management within a creative agency setting, with a proven track record of growing and retaining key client accounts.Strong leadership and team management skills, with experience in setting strategic direction and building high-performing teams.Proven track record exceeding revenue goalsExcellent communication and presentation abilities, with the ability to influence and persuade at the highest levels.Strategic thinking and problem-solving capabilities, with a deep understanding of various marketing disciplines and creative processes.Experience with performance creative, including understanding media plans, analyzing media reports, and leveraging data to inform creative strategies.Experience in financial management, including budgeting, forecasting, and resource allocation.Desired Attributes:Passion for creativity and innovation in marketing and advertising.Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, with a high level of adaptability and willingness to embrace change.Strong negotiation and conflict resolution skills, with the ability to navigate complex client relationships.Entrepreneurial mindset with a focus on driving business growth and achieving measurable results.Application Requirement:Please note: We will only be reviewing applications that include a cover letter detailing your experience custom to this particular job.
