Livepeer Studio is the new video streaming platform for developers, built on top of the Livepeer network. It is high performance while disruptive in cost - saving up to 90% compared to other cloud providers. Livepeer Studio has been growing rapidly via a founder-led sales tactic in the past 6 months. We are looking to establish a lean and effective marketing practice that can consistently and predictably drive leads.
As a blockchain-based protocol that has been live on Ethereum since 2018, Livepeer is one of the first web3 networks to deliver real-world value to an existing multi-billion dollar industry. We do this by using our open-source and blockchain coordinated network to enable a worldwide community of hardware operators to run infrastructure for video streaming. Livepeer Studio is looking for an experienced, self-driven SRE Engineer - someone that loves to automate everything and deliver the best production experiences for end users. They are passionate about keeping all our user-facing services and Livepeer Studio production systems running smoothly. They specialise in systems (operating systems, storage subsystems, networking), while implementing best practices for availability, reliability and scalability, with varied interests in algorithms and distributed systems.We value reliability. We approach the infrastructure with craft and think a lot about form and function. You should feel equally at home talking to developers and designers. We are looking for someone who cares about the reliability of the infrastructure as much as we do. You will ensure the final product is high quality and works as intended.ResponsibilitiesOrchestrate and run our infrastructureAdd to and tune our monitoringReduce or automate manual processesBe on an on-call (PagerDuty) rotation to respond to incidents that impact Livepeer's availabilityPlan the growth of our infrastructure as we continue to scaleVendor managementManage the technical roadmap for the SRE teamInfrastructure cost monitoring and optimisationsSupporting engineers and improving development workflowsTalk directly to large customersCo-ordinate with team members across timezonesRequirementsHave run global mission-critical infrastructureHave managed systems that handle high request volumesKnow your way around Linux and the Unix ShellHave used configuration management systemsHave used infrastructure automation toolsHave implemented CI / CD pipelinesHave experience with some of the following technologies:
