The Opportunity :

The Web Designer II primary role is designing web images, pages, interfaces, special visual effects, and website animations in support of online learning. This involves advanced knowledge of visual design, the ability to work autonomously, and familiarity with the tents of online learning.

This is an auxiliary funded position. Employment is subject to availability of funding and may cease at the time funding for this employment is depleted.

Responsibilities:Work directly with faculty or other clients to identify design needs for online courses/programs or for websites/print materials supporting online learning at an institutional level.

Create designs, illustrations, and layouts for online courses, web, interactive media, and print.

Lead projects with instructional designers, online faculty, and/or other clients to design graphics, images, icons, banners, infographics, etc., for web courses, posters, brochures, etc.

Aptitude for researching, evaluating, and implementing generative AI solutions. Familiarity with AI graphics generation tools.

Design department marketing materials while maintaining brand guidelines, for a variety of mediums including, but not limited to, documents, print, e-mail, websites, etc.

Knowledgeable about accessibility and Section 508 compliance in web designs and online content.

Work closely with internal DDL/CDL teams to support their graphic needs.

Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications :

Bachelor's degree and 2 years of relevant experience; or High School Diploma (or equivalent) and 6 years of relevant work experience in lieu of degree, or an equivalent combination of education and experience pursuant to Fla. Stat. 112.219. Click here for more information

Preferred Qualifications :

Experience on a Mac Platform with Adobe CC (specifically Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign).

Experience with AI graphic generation tools.

Experience with ServiceNow.

Experience working within different servers for file management.

Experience mounting and laminating a plus.

Knowledge of setting up files for offset and/or digital printing.

Knowledge of photography a plus.

Comfortable presenting in large groups either virtual or face to face.

Working within a large brand, specifically in higher education.

Ability to work collaboratively and creatively.
