Do you feel that your skills of thinking outside the box and working across multiple teams, functions, etc. are in need of a new home?This is an executive position as part of the Solutions Design regional leadership team, reporting to the VP, Solutions Design and will be based at our North American Headquarters in Westerville, OH.Job DescriptionThe primary purpose of this role is to ensure process discipline and consistency, resulting in successful solutions design pursuit processes. The role is also responsible for facilitating efficient use of the solutions design resource, and ensuring quality control/assurance of solutions design pursuit activities. This role will provide visibility regarding solutions design utilization by to include win/loss, probabilities, trends etc. The role will offer consultative support to the sectors in the form of customer facing needs assessments, account planning support, targeting, growth strategy, value propositions, and general facilitation as requested by the business.ResponsibilitiesSet Facility Design and Transportation strategy governing direction and conduct, aligning to the business strategy at regional and global levelsLead the strategic development of the groups agenda for the region- including people development, solution skill sets and solution innovation across sectorsMaximize the performance of the solutions design function by providing strategic leadership and coordination across all operating regions within the Supply Chain division.Lead strategically significant solution design programs and projectsAccountable for sponsoring solution design methodology & tools, for example DMADV six sigma methodologyRepresent the function across the rest of DHL (regionally and globally)Lead senior talent management and succession planning for the team / functionDevelop relationships with Regional & Global customer senior management to uncover needs & opportunities in order to achieve DSC's growth, contract retention and continuous improvement objectives.Manage training solutions in the use of standard Solution Design tools &methodologyManage governance model & support framework for all design tools & methodologyEnsure quality control/assurance of SD pursuit activitiesEngage and support Sector Business & Solutions Development to ensure process discipline and consistency leading to optimum input to SD pursuit processes and facilitating efficient use of SD resourceConsultative support to the Sectors in the form of value propositions and general facilitation as requested by the businessConceives and nurtures breakthrough solutions and services that create new value for customers and DHLLead the facility design team while sharing best practices, performance reviews, on-going coaching, etc.Assess new pursuit opportunities for design needs in regards to skill level, design disciplines and the number of design resources needed by evaluating the complexity and timingAllocate resources across the region to projects based on priority, capability, experience and availabilityRequired Education and ExperienceBachelors Degree in relevant Discipline, requiredMasters degree, preferred10 years relevant experience in solutions design, requiredConsultative and Facilitation Skills (internal and external), requiredEnd to End Supply Chain Experience, preferredOur Organization has a business casual environment and focuses on teamwork, associate development, training, and continuous improvement.
