The Pace Women's Justice Center (PWJC) is an independently funded legal services center within Pace University School of Law, under the 501(c) (3) nonprofit status of Pace University. Founded in 1991, it was the first academic legal center in the country devoted to training attorneys and others on domestic violence issues. The Center's mission is to end abuse by providing innovative legal services including direct legal representation for victims and survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault, and elder abuse, training, community education and outreach, service coordination, and information and referrals. Today, with a staff of 35 and over 10,000 hours contributed annually by pro-bono attorneys, volunteers, and law students, PWJC provides direct legal assistance to over 3,100 victims and survivors of domestic violence and elder abuse and conducts over 140 training and outreach events each year.

PWJC is seeking a Grant Writer who is committed to the Center's mission and work. The Grant Writer will work closely with the Executive Director as well as members of the management team to coordinate grant activity and manage grant/contract deliverables for the Center. The successful candidate will research potential funding sources, draft letters of interest, write and submit grant proposals/applications with related budget narratives, develop and maintain a comprehensive grant information database (including descriptions, schedules, deadlines, and deliverables), and work with various Pace University Departments to ensure grants and resulting contracts are properly processed. The Grant Writer will also work closely with the Director of Development on developing strategies related to foundation prospects and will also work collaboratively with staff to identify, understand, and articulate program needs and prepare grant reports. This position is based at PWJC's main office in White Plains and has flexibility for hybrid work with a minimum of 3 days in person office work per week required.

Position DutiesAdministrative oversight and management of all Center grants.Write and submit grant applications and proposals to government, foundation, and corporate sources to support Center programs.Grant research to identify and generate funding opportunities to support various Center programs.Analyze outcome data from database for use in grant applications and grant reports.Work closely with Center staff in obtaining appropriate information about program services for grant submissions and grant reporting.Work with Center Director of Finance and Operations on grant budgets and budget narratives.Create and implement a pre- and post-award grant process as well as a tracking and reporting system for Center.Oversee grant reporting and monitoring activities and ensure compliance.Work within Pace University contracts system to ensure that all Center grants are submitted according to Pace guidelines.Oversee and monitor Center grants and contracts through the Pace Contracts system.Interface with various Pace Departments, such as Philanthropy, Sponsored Research, and Legal to ensure that all grant submissions follow Pace protocols.Work with Center program staff, client database, training, and outreach data to compile statistics, outcome measures, and other data as needed for grants, reports, and other uses.Work with Center staff to prepare grant and foundation reports.Performs other such duties as may be assigned from time to time.Position Qualifications

Bachelor's degree required.Minimum 5 years of experience writing and submitting successful grant proposals.Demonstrated proficiency and experience with competitive corporate and foundation grants, as well as knowledge of and experience with federal and state government grant processes and systems.Demonstrated record of experience in submitting and securing grants to support public interest and/or nonprofit organizations.Experience with finance and budgeting a plus.Excellent writing, editing, and analytical skills.Proficiency in data analysis and reporting a plusStrong organizational, planning and time management skills. Capacity to manage multiple deadlines. Flexibility to take on new assignments as opportunities arise. Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.Experience in the field of domestic violence, as well as demonstrated commitment to public interest law a plus.Demonstrated experience in program management and contract management.Excellent interpersonal skills: experience building and maintaining professional relationships.Proficient in online research and other computer skills such as with Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Acrobat and Excel.Work Hours

Monday through Friday, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM with additional hours as needed.
