Customs Entry Writer

What we’re looking for…
Entry Writer with 3-5 years of entry writing experience and familiarity with U.S. Customs regulations.
Experience dealing with a high volume of data entry.
Cargowise is a plus.
About the Position Duties and responsibilities include the following (other duties may be assigned):
Prepares customs entries for all import shipments to be submitted to and released from U.S. Customs in a timely manner.
Ensures that all entries are properly classified by using tools such as company profiles, CROSS (Customs Rulings Online Search System), Internet and communicating with the Importer of record.
Creates invoices for duty and entry charges to be sent to the Billing Department.
Develops and maintains customer profiles based on the customer’s shipment history.
Coordinates with customers to classify new commodities per according to HTS.
Answers any Brokerage related inquiries internally and externally.
Work Schedule
New York Office 9:00 am – 6:00 pm EST (Rotational overtime on Sundays)
Computer Skills
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have experience with Microsoft Office.
Education & Experience
Associate's degree preferred.
3-5 years of entry writing experience.
Salary
$55,000-$65,000 annually based on education and experience level.
