David Zwirner is seeking a Design Intern to work closely with the design team's Senior Designers and Design Manager. The intern will assist with all things related to David Zwirner and 52 Walker's design including but not limited to: exhibition invitations, ads, social assets, the production of bespoke projects and the production of 52 Walker's annual zine. Qualified candidates for this position should be self motivated, organized, detail-oriented, have excellent communication skills, and have an interest in art and design as it applies to a commercial gallery. Familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite and Figma is required.

Primary responsibilities include:

Designing the 52 Walker annual zine.

This will entail organizing all digital assets such as photos, and various documentation of exhibition ephemera that will be featured in the zine.Designing page layouts throughout the zine.Working with vendors on print deliverables.Photo retouching and editing.

Day to day requests from the marketing, digital marketing, content, events and social teams

Bespoke designs for online and print applications. Templated digital and print ads, social assets, invitations, and newsletters. This will require adapting existing design systems to various formats.

You will learn and improve on the following:

Development of design directions.Visual ResearchAsset organization.Working with type, grids, layout, and sequence.Prepping/exporting assets for print / online.

Requirements:

Must have basic working knowledge of Figma / Indesign / Photoshop / After Effects.

To ensure that our interns have a well-rounded and educational experience, we ask for a commitment of three months. Hours are 10AM - 6PM, 5 days a week, from the DZ office 4 times a week. Internship is paid at NYC minimum wage of $16/hour. Candidates must be residents of NY, NJ, or CT. No lodging or commuting expenses will be provided. Only qualified candidates will be contacted.
