Business Development Analyst / Marketing Analyst

Summary/objective:

The Business Development (BD) Analysts supports a robust business development process by engaging with potential customers and teammates and through the identification and analysis of new opportunities. This individual will assist in securing new and existing work in the Federal/DoD marketplace. They will assist in KMS pipeline opportunity identification, development, qualification and capture to grow revenue. The individual filling this role must collaborate effectively, negotiate and cooperate to achieve business goals.

Essential functions:

Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform these essential functions.Work closely with the KMS management team to develop and/or refine capture plans.Develops or improves capture plans for assigned opportunities.Develops opportunity evaluation tools including capability matrices and overview slides.Supports all the activities necessary to develop and deliver qualified opportunities to capture managers.Maintains Customer Resource Management (CRM) tools, databases and other digital medium.Maintains public-facing forums for the company such as LinkedIn, Corporate Website and membership/association interfaces.Monitors contract opportunities in federal, state, local and corporate digital environments such as SAM.gov, Seaport NextGen, GSA OASIS, etc.Performs research and analysis on potential partners, competitors, opportunities, customers and markets.Develops requests for Teaming Agreements and Non-Disclosure requests for corporate partners.Attends corporate trade shows, conferences, and customer engagement meetings as directed.Describes corporate capabilities and experiences to potential customers and partners.Maintains staff resume and competency databases.Supports proposal development as directed.Follows corporate processes for business development and may make recommendations for improvements to the process.Required education and experience:

Minimum of an Associate’s Degree.Proficiency in electronic file storage, Microsoft Sharepoint and web-based tools.Preferred education and experience:

Bachelor’s Degree in business, marketing or a technical area.Prior military service a plus.1-3 years’ experience in federal government contract supportCompetencies:

Excellent communications skills – demonstrated through written and oral presentations, development of proposals or position papers and other products.Strong Data Management skills.Comfortable engaging and presenting a corporate sales ‘pitch’ to industry and government partners.Proficient with MS Office Suite: MS Teams, MS Sharepoint and MS Excel.Must be a Self-Starter.Must be able to think strategically.Possesses analytical presentation and problem-solving skills.Work authorization/security clearance requirements:

Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.Other Duties:

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:

The typical workday is eight hours in length. Some flexibility in hours is allowed, with concurrence from the supervisor. The employee must be available during the “core” work hours of 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. and must account for the hours in a pay period to maintain full-time status.

Telework:

This is a Hybrid position with up to 40% Telework.

Travel:

This position includes a low level of travel of 5-10% to Trade Shows and meetings with industry partners.
