The NFL Media Group is looking for a Video Streaming Engineer. As a Video Streaming Engineer, you will be joining a technical operations team that is shaping the future of NFL's digital media presence in the world. The successful candidate must have a solid foundation in large volume video delivery methodologies for live video streaming environments, including DRM, Closed Captioning, multi-CDN and security. This role requires a strong collaborator on improvements and architectures in areas such as supporting NFL Media's live video infrastructure, provisioning live feeds, deploying new FAST-based workflows, monitoring environments, escalating, and resolving issues.

Responsibilities

Support and maintain daily live streaming video infrastructure.Perform analysis, diagnosis, and resolution of video signal chains relative to encoding, transcoding, CDN delivery, and video players associated with authentication and entitlement systems.Support video acquisition, monitoring, and troubleshooting.Assist video architect and implement video production workflows where necessary to optimize and/or meet business requirements.Support live streaming events during NFL game windows (nights/weekends/must have flexible schedule).Work closely with product and video groups to deliver a high quality of service for the video product.Configure, test, and implement appropriate codec settings for live streaming.Consult and help implement new video services and/or products in furthering the evolution of the streaming ecosystem with a focus on scalability and high availability.Help define Video Requirements with Best Practices in mind.Maintain documentation of hardware maintenance, configuration, failures, removal, and installation.Maintain and cultivate relationships with current and existing vendors/partners to improve video quality of service and experience.Work directly with vendors to ensure technology and strategy are in line with business goals.Required Qualifications

BS degree in a related field and/or equivalent experience.5 or more years of experience working in a video engineer capacitySolid troubleshooting experience is a MUST.Proven video streaming and media workflow experience and in-depth knowledge and understanding of streaming technologies.Experience with live streaming encoders such as AWS Elemental Live, Cisco, Anvato.Experience with video streaming tools as example QoS Monitoring, CDN Portals is requiredMust be self-motivated, detail oriented with excellent communication/interpersonal skills.Ability to communicate complex technical problems to non-technical personnel in a competent and concise way.Knowledge of streaming providers and vendors: CDN's, Cloud Providers, OVP's, Encoding Hardware/Software, etc.Strong Knowledge of Video Content Management Systems, video player development and securitization of video.Experience working with different encoding technologiesLinux administration experience.Preferred Qualifications

Troubleshooting in Linux/Mac/Windows environments.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Knowledge of industry encoding standards, including H.264, H.265, AAC, GOP structure, I-P-B frame schemes, profiles, bit-rates, aspect ratios, CEA-608/708.Experience with Ffmpeg, HLS, DASH, RTMP, SRT, SMPTE 2110, J2K, ASI, Baseband and IP Multi-viewers, Teradek, OBS, LiveU, AWS Elemental Live,Knowledge of bash or zsh command line interface.Linux and Windows web servers.Knowledge of TCP/IP, UDP, HTTP, FTP, SSH, SCP.Knowledge of scripting languages.Physical Demands

Must be able to lift video equipment weighing up to 15 pounds.Travel

Salary / Pay Range

Only in truly rare and exceptional circumstances, where an external candidate has experience, credentials or expertise that far exceed those required or expected for the position, would the NFL consider paying a salary or rate near the higher end of the range.

Salary

$105,000-$135,000 USD
