Job Description:
The KCU Library seeks a highly motivated research and writing support professional to provide individual and group information services in medicine, dental, psychology, biosciences, and other health sciences programs. This professional will help develop a Writing Center and meet the information needs of the research and academic communities.
Essential Responsibilities:Provide resources, training, and research support in biomedical and health resources to the departments and programs on the Kansas City and Joplin campuses at KCUDeliver writing support and reference consultations tailored to the needs of students in Osteopathic Medicine, Clinical Psychology, Dental Medicine, and Biomedical Sciences programsTake a pivotal role in the establishment of a KCU Writing CenterParticipate as a member of the KCU Library teamOffer individual and group information services to meet scientific information needsConduct presentations and instructional sessions on relevant topics
Preferred Qualifications:ALA-accredited MLS (Master of Library Science)Minimum of two years of research support experience in an academic, clinical, or public health settingExperience in teaching, particularly in writingProficiency in the use of health sciences and clinical information resourcesExcellent presentation and instruction skillsProficiency in relevant information technologies, information management tools, and analytical and searching techniquesBA in English, Journalism, or a similar major is preferredExcellent computer literacy and proficiency with MS Office
