The creative heart of Drexel University, the Antoinette Westphal College of Media Arts & Design trains the next generation of scholars, thinkers, makers, and doers in the fields of media, entertainment, design, and the visual and performing arts. Westphal offers 18 undergraduate and nine graduate majors, housed in award-winning facilities that encourage collaboration across creative disciplines. About the Cinema & Television Department

Cinema & Television is one of seven departments in the Antoinette Westphal College of Media Arts & Design, working closely with the Departments of Digital Media, Performing Arts, and Arts & Entertainment Enterprise. The Film & Television Production program within the department attracts national and international students who not only desire to have a professional career, but also understand that in order to do so they must be multi-skilled, collaborative storytellers.

Westphal College offers seventeen accredited undergraduate programs, as well as seven graduate programs, many of which are in the top-ten in national rankings. Our innovative instructional approach emphasizes learning in small studio and production courses under the tutelage of one hundred and thirty full-time faculty who are noted artists, media producers, scholars, researchers, and industry professionals. The Westphal College has more than two thousand students and is one of the largest of Drexel's fourteen schools and colleges. Drexel is located in the heart of Philadelphia, a world heritage city that nurtures the arts and is the fourth largest television market in the country.

These positions are rolling and will be evaluated for each upcoming term. Each academic quarter involves a ten-week term and one week of finals.

Job Summary

The Department of Cinema & Television is looking for an accomplished entertainment professional who is ready to pass on their accumulated knowledge to our eager, talented, and ambitious students. The Film & TV program seeks applicants for adjunct, part-time positions in areas including:

Film or Television Studies;Producing;Production Sound Recording (including wireless systems, timecode, and microphone applications);Cinematography & Lighting;Editing (Avid, Premiere);Specialty crafts including, but not limited to:Production design;Storyboarding;Color Correction (Resolve)Steadicam;

Essential Functions

Teach studio, lecture, and/or practicum courses based per contract.Plan and provide instructional experiences that reflect an understanding of the philosophy, objectives, and curriculum of the Film & TV program.Evaluate student achievement of curricular objectives/outcomes.Maintain communication with the program director regarding any course or student issues.

Required Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED.Minimum of 5 years of industry experience.Established track record of professional achievement.Fluency with the current film and television industries.

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor's degree.
