A/V & Broadcast Technician

Position Summary:

The A/V & Broadcast Technician is responsible for the day-to-day operations of all audio and video systems for various events, meetings, and installations, inclusive of Miami Marlins home games. They will be tasked in designing, setting up, and maintaining these systems while overseeing the technical supervision of broadcast, production, post-production, entertainment and related technology systems at loanDepot park.

Essential Functions:Oversee the installation, operation, training, maintenance, service and repair of broadcast, production, post-production and entertainment technology;Collaborate with other departments and vendors to coordinate A/V installations and upgrades;Develop and maintain technical drawings, schematics, and documentation for A/V installations;Conduct regular maintenance and inspections of A/V systems to ensure optimal performance;Diagnose and resolve technical issues;Provide technical support during live events and meetings;Aid in the management of capital expense budget process;Manage IPTV operations - inclusive of loading marketing and sponsorship content loops, etc;Close collaboration with IT and Ballpark Operations to accomplish organizational A/V and broadcasting initiatives;Manage full time and freelance engineering staff as well as vendor relationships responsible for the technical operation and maintenance of the listed systems;Manage relationship with Daktronics and provide support on all LED Displays and Controls;Provide all support for the Live/Broadcast Production - Wired/Wireless/POV/PTZ Camera systems, wired/wireless intercoms and IFB, playback, replay, CG, captions, KVM, multiviewers, production switcher, A/V monitoring and Production Equipment - Cameras/lenses, lighting, teleprompter, audio, grip, electric equipment;Manage and support Signal Processing - A/V conversion, patch, distribution, routing and control, fiber transport, and network connectivity;Manage and support all Broadcast Production Cabling - scoreboard control room, broadcast booths, broadcast cable i/o boxes, truck dock, turnaround, press conference;Provide all support regarding Sound inclusive of amplifiers, speakers, audio consoles, distribution amplifiers, DJ systems, DSP, patch panels;

Qualifications & Requirements:Proficiency with AV systems, including audio mixers, microphones, speakers, projectors, video conferencing systems, and control interfaces;Strong understanding of AV protocols, signal flow, and connectivity standards (e.g., HDMI, SDI, TCP/IP, RS232);Experience with AV software and control systems (e.g., Crestron, Extron, AMX);Familiarity with networking principles and IT infrastructure as it relates to AV systems;Experience with large LED display systems and large venue sound;Experience with Production workflows;Experience with Broadcast cameras, production switchers;Ability to work in fast-paced environment and meet tight deadlines;Ability to handle numerous tasks simultaneously;Ability to prioritize jobs on short notice, and establish and manage priorities. Self-starter;Ability to manage a large group of employees successfully;Strong teamwork and relationship building skills;Ability to lift and carry equipment up to 50 pounds;Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, as required by event schedules;Comfortable working in various environments, including high places and confined spaces.

Suggested Education & Experience Guidelines:Bachelor's degree in Audio Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field preferred;Minimum of 3 years of experience in AV system design, installation, and support;Minimum of 3 years of experience in broadcasting quality large-scale stadium/arena live sporting events and maintaining broadcast television or production equipment.
