LOCATION: VaporTech Onsite in Longmont, Colorado

POSITION SUMMARY:

As the Mechanical Designer/Drafter I, the role is responsible for preparing clear, complete and accurate design documentation to assist in the manufacturing and service of components, products or systems.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS and RESPONSIBIITIES:

Creates engineering drawings from 3D CAD models using Solidworks. Works from notes, verbal instructions, sketches and drawings, or engineering specifications; consolidates the information to be used to prepare working plans, layouts and detailed drawings. Reviews the design and helps resolve the details not completely defined. Determines the best combination of all the preliminary information and contributing data to develop the final design. Develops specifications, designs or drawings using engineering principles, established company standards, procedures, and instructions. Provides the required level of documentation for custom or standard projects. Specific tasks include making drawings and parts lists using Solidworks software and other computer tools, as required. Reviews engineering drawings and supporting documents for adherence to company or industry design standards as well as for meeting form fit and function, e.g. verify freedom of movement between parts, etc. Verifies completed work; checks dimensions, materials to be used, quantities, processing info, etc. Coordinates with other internal departments (and external vendors) affected by design development. Provides scheduling, costing and technical information concerning the design. Supports the resolution of mechanical and fabrication problems with designed or purchased parts used in a design. Assures that any changes are documented and prepared in accordance with engineering change procedures and in a timely manner. Follows company procedures, work instructions and guidelines in the design, layout, and documentation of company custom and standard products., i.e., procedure, classification coding and retrieval system, CAD drafting and archival guidelines, etc. All other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

* Associate of Arts and Sciences - AAS, Computer Aided Drafting and Design or similar required;* 3+ years experience as a Draftsman/Designer* Must be authorized to work in the US.

Pay Range: $55,000 - $67,000 annually
