Responsibilities

Florida State University is expanding its health-related research capacity in partnership with regional healthcare facilities including Tallahassee Memorial Healthcare and the Mayo Clinic. In concert with this strategic investment, the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry seeks to fill a tenure-track faculty position at the rank of Assistant Professor. This search is open to all areas of biomedically-oriented research in the chemical sciences. These areas include, but are not limited to, biochemistry, organic chemistry, medicinal chemistry, bioanalytical chemistry, chemical biology, bioinorganic chemistry and biophysical chemistry.

The successful candidate will be expected to develop a nationally and internationally recognized and externally funded research program in addition to teaching undergraduate and graduate courses.

Qualifications

Doctoral degree from an accredited institution or highest degree appropriate to related field with a demonstrated record of achievement in teaching, academic research, and service. We seek applicants that will add to a thriving department that continues to make significant advances at the interface of chemistry and health across many subfields.
