"Primary Purpose:Assist with inspections, repairs and replacements of all audio-visual (A/V) and electronic equipment, including but not limited to public address systems, master clock systems, bells, fire and security alarm systems, and certification of all district fire extinguishers.

Qualifications:Education/CertificationHigh School Diploma or GED, preferredTraining in A/V repairs or Trade School certification in electronics, preferredValid Class C Texas driver's license and proof of insurability with District insurance carrier

Special Knowledge/SkillsAssist Lead A/V Technician in the repair and periodical inspection of fire alarm systemsInspect and process recertification of District fire extinguishersKnowledge of audio-visual equipment and electronicsAbility to diagnose issues with audio-visual equipment, public announcement and auditorium sound systems identify repairs or replacementAbility to read and interpret cut-sheets that illustrate trouble-shooting for audio-visual equipmentSkilled in written documentation to denote costs associated with life-cycles of equipmentAbility to comprehend oral and written instructionsEffective organizational, communication (verbal and written), and interpersonal skillsAbility to utilize technology resources relevant to position

ExperienceMinimum three years audio-visual diagnostic and repair experience, preferably in public education

Major Responsibilities and Duties:Maintenance and RepairAssist in maintaining the integrity and satisfactory operability of all District A/V equipment and various electronics by troubleshooting, repairing, or recommending replacement.Effectively plan and utilize time to complete tasks including those of a complex nature.Inspect and repair fire alarm systems and alert all parties involved to avoid repeat work and make note of systems that are candidates for upgrade or replacement.Records and ReportsUpdate and maintain current files and records of parts, supplies, and equipment.Document progress through written reports and completed work orders that denote the costs associated with life-cycles of A/V equipment.OtherParticipating on the after hours on the on - call schedule and respond in a timely manner when contacted regarding urgent situations or emergencies (during or outside of normal business hours)Exhibit behavior that is professional, ethical, and responsible; and serve as a role model for staff and public.Perform other duties as assigned.

SafetyPractice a high standard of safety in the performance of all duties and abide by District policies and procedures.Contribute to the prevention of accidents and injuries by observing safety rules and District policy, practicing the principles and skills taught in safety training, wearing personal protective equipment as required, reporting injuries and incidences immediately to supervisor, and being proactive in the ongoing efforts to improve and maintain workplace safety.
