Your Impact

The Enthusiast Group-Bicycling, Runner's World, Popular Mechanics, Biography.com, and Best Products-is seeking a highly organized, detail- and deadline-oriented Editorial Assistant to join the team. The ideal candidate has a background in English, journalism, or communications. While not required, the candidate has some experience in print and digital production.

Job ResponsibilitiesAssist in the content-focused segment of production of print and digital issues for Bicycling, Runner's World, and Popular Mechanics, including Apple News digital issues-both during production and in the final stages before issues are approved for publication.Evaluate written content to ensure it is clear, consistent, and error-free.Create issue lineups and work with our production team to finalize maps and story order; approve ad adjacencies, troubleshoot paging issues, and more.Create story files in WoodWing Studio for print and Apple News+ issues for all three brands.Manage the research and legal reviews of all relevant content, including updating and expanding our fact-checker database and negotiating freelance rates.Update and maintain the Issues Wall in our Easton office with all current print issues, as well as the status board with full-year lineups.Support other editorial needs such as posting issue cover reveals in Slack, keeping all mastheads (both editorial and corporate) up to date, gathering Apple News+ headlines and commerce links from editors, updating our copyrights for each issue, and providing Runner's World issue lineups to our international partners.Become a Coda superuser in order to assist with glitches, fixes, and requested changes. (Coda is our internal tracking software used by all teams in the Enthusiast Group.)

QualificationsYou have experience with the following programs and platforms: Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Teams), Google (Docs, Forms, Sheets), Zoom, Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, InCopy).You are proficient in macOS.You are able to communicate effectively and clearly, including in written emails.You are professional and have a strong sense of discretion and good judgment when handling confidential information.You thrive in a fast-paced environment and can juggle multiple deadlines at once.You are confident in your ability to make decisions.You have a degree in journalism, English, or a related field.You hold a Bachelor's degree.

The base salary for this role is $55,000-$57,000. The base pay offered is dependent upon many factors, such as: transferable skills, work experience, business needs and market demands. The base pay is subject to change and may be modified in the future.

Based in Easton, PA, hybrid in-office schedule.

This is a position covered under the Writers Guild of America, East, Collective Bargaining Agreement.
