RESPONSIBILITIES:

Manage library database so catalog is relevant, current, and accurateManage library budget accurately, ethically and responsiblyBuild a collection that meets curricular needs as well as student leisure reading needsCreate a library program that matches the school's goals, supporting GISD's Strategic PlanStay current on technology, library, and literature trends through personally pursued professional developmentEngage students in active inquiry learning experiences that encourage and foster critical and original student thinkingIncorporate literacy skills in instruction so that all become lifelong readers and learners that can interpret and develop new understandingsIntegrate digital citizenship so that all collaborate in an atmosphere of respect, integrity, sharing, and trustDesign and implement professional learning for instructional staff to facilitate student and parent engagement through the use of technologyCommunicate with students, parents, staff, and community in a manner representative of media program, campus and district vision, mission and goalsUphold and comply with school board policies, administrative regulations, rules and instructions of administrative supervisorsRespectfully and ethically supervise clerical aide, student aides, and volunteersWillingly accept and perform duties assigned by administrators
