Description
Under the direction of the Supervisor, Collection Development, the Librarian Selector Graphic Novels Specialist serves as the expert in Graphic Novel materials for Brodart's customers. This position provides support for the sales and marketing of these materials and services as well as performance of a variety of title level activities.Identify appropriate titles to be entered into the title database based on US library requirements and place those titles into the proper Brodart programs.Monitor data relating to graphic novels such as age range, subjects and descriptors.Select titles for Brodart lists and programs, for custom selection lists and/or perform vendor selection for specific customers and projects.Collaborate with Collection Development, Sales and Marketing to drive sales growth to include direct sales, travel to customer sites and conferences.Perform activities that would enhance and build Brodart's reputation as the premier source for Graphic Novel materials.Participate in cross-functional problem-solving teams as required.
Qualifications
Masters Degree in Library Science, ALA-accredited preferred, with at least five years of graphic novel selection experience in libraries.Strong oral and written communication skills.Knowledgeable about comics and graphic novel publishing, publishers, authors, artists, and subject trends.Understands the selection patterns of US public libraries.Able to represent the company well in any business setting, including making presentations. Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite applications, Internet and book databases.Ability to work independently and collaboratively, manage time and prioritize tasks.Remote office environment; close and distant vision, using hands and fingers to handle and feel, talk and hear, sitting.Occasional travel to customer sites and conventions.
