Oakland County - Sr. NX Designer
Key Functions & Responsibilities of the Sr. NX DesignerDevelops both 2D and 3D design files to meet the requirements of internal and external customers, focusing on elements like kinematics, packaging, and clearance.Creates advanced-level design proposals and suggests alternative design scenarios to fulfill or exceed customer needs.Works closely with project engineering, manufacturing divisions, and customers to ensure project requirements are met.Ensures all design for manufacturing and assembly (DFM&A) requirements are satisfied by coordinating with the manufacturing division.Utilizes a comprehensive understanding of specific systems and tools to support design processes.Available to work additional hours and travel to meet customer needs when required.Performs additional duties and responsibilities as assigned by the supervisor.Required Education, Skills, & Abilities of the Sr. NX DesignerProficient in using industry-standard design software, including NX, Sketcher, and vehicle architecture systems.Experienced in designing fluid handling commodities such as brake lines, fuel lines, and fill pipes.Skilled in the design of metallic components, including cradles, suspension parts, and stampings.Has undergone formal training in specified CAD systems with at least 5 years of practical application.Possesses working knowledge of finite element analysis.Strong verbal and written communication skills, with good organizational, interpersonal, and problem-solving abilities.Demonstrates good computer proficiency and may require proficiency in additional languages beyond English.Holds a high school diploma and has a minimum of 10 years of experience or equivalent qualifications.
