GENERAL JOB SUMMARY:
To develop, design, and/or create, fixtures, and tooling in order to meet quality, cost, and schedule objectives.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:Design drill tools, weld fixtures, router boards, and other fixtures and assemblies as needed.Creates detailed manufacturing drawings.Works with Mechanical Design Engineers, Manufacturing Engineers and Shop Engineers including interpretation of engineering drawings.Develops quotes for new tooling requirements.
Other Job Functions:Other duties may be assigned.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY:This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:Proficient use of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Power Point).Ability to maintain sensitive and confidential information as required by government standards.Ability to interact effectively with peers and supervisors.Ability to interact appropriately with the public when necessary.Ability to adhere to workplace rules.Must have the ability obtain and maintain a U.S. security clearance (requires U.S. Citizenship).
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:High School Diploma or equivalent.AS/AA in design drafting technology or similar degree, preferred.5+ years related experience in manufacturing.Proficient using CAD software. (AutoDesk Inventor / Siemens NX experience preferred.)Proficient using PDM software. (AutoDesk Vault / Siemens Teamcenter experience preferred.)Basic understanding of GD&T.Understanding of NC programming codes and method.Knowledge of AS400 programs preferred.
WORK ENVIROMENT / PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:Office environment.Ability to stand and sit for long periods of time.Ability to perform repetitive motion (keyboarding, 10-key, phones).Ability to lift up to 10 pounds.Ability to follow standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
