A Social Media/Web Specialist position is available within McLean's Laboratory for Affective and Translational Neuroscience (LATN), directed by Diego A. Pizzagalli, Ph.D. The laboratory is part of McLean's Center for Depression, Anxiety and Stress Research, which is devoted to the study of depression, anxiety and related conditions (http://cdasr.mclean.harvard.edu). Lab members utilize various methodologies (e.g., brain imaging, electrophysiology, clinical interviews) to study emotional and cognitive processing in both healthy and psychiatric populations, primarily major depression, across the life span (e.g., adolescents, adults). The laboratory is looking for a Social Media/Web Specialist to manage and create content for various social media accounts and lab websites that will generate meaningful educational messages for the broader population and boost recruitment.

May be responsible for the following activities:

Work in concert with the Principal Investigator, Research Assistants, and other staff to develop and implement participant recruitment strategies on multiple social media platforms and the lab website, which includes providing consultation of study teams and Research Assistants on other study-specific advertising campaigns.

Assist Principal Investigator and Research Assistants in submitting outreach and recruitment materials to IRB and staying in compliance with regulatory agencies.

Manage social media accounts (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, etc.) by generating ideas for outreach and media representation of the lab and creating interactive posts, webinars, graphics, etc. for these accounts.

Create and manage advertising campaigns, pricing strategies, and initiatives to reach target audience. Generate campaign analytics periodically and update campaigns accordingly.

Create a TikTok account for LATN and frequently generate content related to mental health and research with both educational and recruitment purposes.

Manage and update the Center's website with modern features and timely content reflecting the Center's research updates, DEI initiatives, members, and active studies.

Provide consultation for study teams and Research Assistants on other study-specific advertising campaigns.

All other duties as assigned.

SKILLS/ABILITIES/COMPETENCIES REQUIRED: Must be realistic, objective, measurable, and related to essential functions of this job.

Excellent interpersonal skills are required for working with the study team.Good oral and written communication skills.

• Thorough understanding of marketing elements and market research method

• Proven experience in content creation for social media or similar activity

Excellent organizational skills and ability to prioritize a variety of tasks from multiple campaigns and outreach projects.Careful attention to detail.Basic understanding of and passion for mental health.

• Familiarity with ethical research practices and ability to create content within such frameworks.

Qualifications

BS OR BA in Marketing, Communications, Media, or related field.

Experience in managing successful advertising campaigns, social media accounts, or website.
