Job Description
KMBC/KCWE TV, the ABC/CW Hearst Television stations in Kansas City, MO has an opening for a Broadcast Technical Director. Broadcast Technical Directors have knowledge of broadcast operations and production activities. This position works with engineering and news to facilitate the production elements involved in live newscasts. You will report to the Engineering Director.
Job ResponsibilitiesResponsible for clean technical execution of the look of the newscastsPerform other duties as assigned by the Assistant Chief Engineer and Director of Engineering
Experience Requirements1+ years of experience working as a newscast director or technical director at a commercial television stationExperience operating several types of production broadcast equipmentKnowledge of Grass Valley Ignite Automation or experience with production control automation systemsDemonstrate timely decision-making in a live news production environmentUnderstanding of newsroom systems, ENPS and video playback systems
Qualification RequirementsMust have a solid background in the operations of broadcast television systems and equipmentCan work flexible hours and shifts, including holidays and weekendsIn-person attendance is required
EducationCollege Degree preferred but not requiredHearst Television is a proud supporter of military veterans. Related military training and experience will be considered
