Job Description

The

Instructional Designer (ID)/ Principal Trainer

Level 2 will be an integral part of the electronic medical record (EMR) team who will work with the Application Learning's leadership to develop and deliver the H2O and other application training programs. This dynamic candidate will function as a lead Instructional Designer mentoring and guiding Level 1 ID's. The candidate must possess strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities and manage multiple team members. A strong belief in the objectives of this organization and the H2O project is required. Candidate must have a strong background in Instructional Design, Training EHR end users and must have experience building curricula for EHR education. Candidate must possess excellent presentation skills, strong technical documentation skills, and proficiency in the Microsoft Office (certification preferred) including MS Project, and Visio.

Duties & Responsibilities

Mentor, train and support Level 1 Instructional Designers on curriculum build, design and implementation.Functions as the subject matter expert for > 1 Application, Non-Epic Software and other Information Technology DevicesWill lead development of e-learnings using Captivate and other digital softwareAs a senior ID, teaches and provides guidance and mentorship to junior Instructional Designers and trainers junior staff in the development of virtual learning opportunities for providers and staff.Leads curriculum development initiatives. Acts as a liaison between Providers, Applications Learning staff and Build analysts by providing guidance regarding orders content and epic capabilities.Develop and implement the training program for their respective applications; 2, potentially 3 applications.Build, test, and maintain the Epic Master Training environment (MST) and all associated facets including, but not limited to patient build, mitosis sheets, historical patients etc.Create and maintain all training materials including but not limited to Lesson Plans, PowerPoints, Tip Sheets, SharePoint documents, and Parking Lot itemDesign and facilitate the Credentialing program for Credentialed Trainers & FCTsCreate Digital/ E-learnings for end user educationDevelop for Thrive program (ongoing training opportunities)Conducts Super user training of end usersWork with the training team to analyze and coordinate availability of trainers, schedules, WebEx training, Bomgar support & training, workstations, and other resourcesFacilitate training for new staff, on-going training, upgrade training, and optimization trainingMaintain policy and procedure documentation per the NYCH+H standardTravel between facility locations in response to training schedules, and provide virtual off-shift training as neededCoordinate and provide support during and after optimization implementationsProvide the Project Management team with identified risks and concernsParticipate in special projects as needed and perform other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications1. Baccalaureate Degree from an accredited college or university in Education, Public Health, Psychology, Personnel Administration, Management or Public Administration, or a related approved discipline; and,2. Five years of progressively responsible experience in planning and manpower development and training programs, medical or public health administration or other fields related to training, development and manpower analysis, of which at least two years must have been in a managerial, supervisory or administrative capacity related to the organization, formulation, development and implementation of such plans and programs: or,3. A Master's Degree from an accredited college or university in Education, Management, Social Work, Medical Administration, Psychology, Personnel Administration, Public Administration, or a related approved field with four years of experience as described in (2), and two years in a managerial, supervisory or administrative capacity; and,4. Extensive knowledge of the principals of training and manpower development programs and ability to analyze and determine the needs of the Corporation; or,5. A satisfactory combination of training, education and experience indicating the ability to perform satisfactorily.Special Note: In addition to meeting the qualification requirements stated above, assignment to Level II requires evidence of advance study in relevant disciplines.

CERTIFICATION(S)/NYS LICENSE(S) :Epic Certification(s) required

EDUCATIONAL LEVEL:Bachelor's Degree in a clinical field or Associate's Degree with at least 10 years of clinical knowledge and experience.

Knowledge, Skills abilities, and other requirements:Excellent written and verbal communication skills including presentation delivery and classroom facilitationSkill and experience in adult educationExperience delivering software training and developing training materials.Strong interpersonal skillsRequired experience managing teams and establishing team frameworksMust be able to work independently as well as work as part of a dynamic teamKnowledge and expertise in the characteristics of Information Technology and peripheral devices.Participate in special projects as needed and perform other duties as assignedMust be able to work independently as well as work as part of a fast-moving teamMust be able to work at various locations, when necessary, along with working various shifts

Other Preferred Skills:Have an Epic Certification(s) or obtain certification in the respective Epic application(s) within agreed upon certification guidelinesDigital Education Software (i.e. Captivate, Caltura) knowledge preferred

Years Of Experience:At least 5 years of experience training small and large groups in person or virtually using videoconferencingFive (5) years of progressively responsible experience in planning and manpower development and training programs, medical or public health administration or other fields related to training, development and manpower analysis, of which at least two (2) years must have been in a managerial, supervisory or administrative capacity related to the organization, formulation, development and implementation of such plans and programs
