Geodesicx, Inc. is in search of a Technical Writer III to join our team in the Norfolk, VA area.

The Technical Writer III is responsible for developing, writing, and editing material for reports, manuals, briefs, proposals, instruction books, catalogs, and related technical and administrative publications concerned with work methods and procedures, and installation, operation, and maintenance of machinery and other equipment. This role supports various Command, Control, Communications, Computers, Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (C4ISR) and Command and Control (C2) systems across multiple platforms supporting Department of Defense end users.

Specific Duties:Develop, write, and edit material for reports, manuals, briefs, proposals, instruction books, catalogs, and related technical and administrative publications.Observe production, developmental, and experimental activities to determine operating procedure and detail.Interview production and engineering personnel and read journals, reports, and other material to become familiar with product technologies and production methods.Review manufacturer's and trade catalogs, drawings, and other data relative to operation, maintenance, and service of equipment.Study blueprints, sketches, drawings, parts lists, specifications, mockups, and product samples to integrate and delineate technology, operating procedure, and production sequence and detail.Organize material and complete writing assignments according to set standards regarding order, clarity, conciseness, style, and terminology.Review published materials and recommend revisions or changes in scope, format, content, and methods of reproduction and binding.Select photographs, drawings, sketches, diagrams, and charts to illustrate material.Assist in laying out material for publication and arrange for typing, duplication, and distribution of material.Write speeches, articles, and public or employee relations releases, and edit standardize or make changes to material prepared by other writers or plant personnel.

Experience Requirements:Six (6) years of experience with a degree or ten (10) years with a High School diploma/GED in developing, writing, and editing material for reports, manuals, briefs, proposals, instruction books, catalogs, and related technical and administrative publications.Experience in observing production, developmental, and experimental activities to determine operating procedure and detail.Experience in interviewing production and engineering personnel and reading journals, reports, and other material to become familiar with product technologies and production methods.

Education Requirements:Associate's degree or High School Diploma or GED
