Person County Government is recruiting for a part-time Library Page. This employee will perform essential administrative duties to support the Library's outreach services. This role involves applying basic library work practices and providing excellent customer service to library patrons. The Library Page will be responsible for circulation desk tasks, including checking library materials in and out, collecting overdue fines, managing inter-library loan and reserve requests, and offering reader advisory and general assistance.
In addition to inside library duties, this position includes driving the bookmobile to designated locations on a scheduled basis. The role requires frequent interaction with library patrons and the general public, necessitating tact, courtesy, and strong customer service skills.
This is a non-exempt position. Part-time employees cannot work more than 1000 hours per calendar year.

The starting salary will be determined with consideration given to both the candidate's educational background and relevant work experience.
Minimum Education and Experience
Desirable Education and ExperienceHigh school diploma or GED. Public Driving experience preferred.Special Requirements/Qualifications
Must possess a valid driver's license and have an acceptable driving record per County policy.
Person County conducts pre-employment screening on candidates. Job offers are conditional pending the following:A pre-employment drug screen for all candidates. Positions designated by Person County as Safety Sensitive are also subject to random drug and alcohol testing.A background check for all candidates. Some positions also require a credit check.Additional screening and testing required for some positions.Within 3 days of the start of your employment with the County, you must be able to provide proof of your eligibility to work in the US.
