Features Reporter

with the ability to elevate all facets of our expanding Food portfolio, with a special focus on making the PG the market's primary source for restaurant and food coverage.

This individual will work closely with the Food Editor and the AME/Features & Health, joining a Features team that earned the top prize in the national Society for Features Journalism Awards for the past three years in our division (90.000 to 199,000 circulation).

This reporter will be counted on to produce a steady flow of original ideas on a wide variety of topics that readers can't get anywhere else. Applicants should have the ability to identify stories and execute both short-term stories and long-range projects.

This reporter needs to be an innovative journalist with impeccable reporting and writing skills, a proven ability to excel on all platforms, and a proven record of engaging a passionate community of foodies, cooks and diners. This reporter will assist us in developing coverage strategies aimed at increasing digital subscriptions and diversifying our audience on all platforms. This is a full-time position.

QualificationsAbility to develop a wide range of sources on variety of subjects within the food beatA proven record to write timely, well-reported and thought-provoking storiesEager to be part of a transforming newsroom working to provide deep coverage of a diverse and changing communityCreativity across the board, from unique story ideas to engaging presentationsAbility to fully oversee the development of stories, words to visuals, including collaborating with the visuals team to provide all appropriate elements (photos, videos and graphics) and shooting photos and video as neededAble to juggle daily stories with short-term and long-term enterpriseStrong command of AP grammar and styleStrong copy-editing skills and the ability to produce content that is fair, accurate and thorough

Education and ExperienceBachelor's degree, preferably in journalism2 to 5 years of reporting experience preferredAbility to use social media platforms (i.e. Facebook, Instagram, X, TikTok)Strong verbal and written communication skills as well as strong interpersonal skillsDisplay exceptional work ethic, time management, and organizational skills
