ECS is seeking a Technical Proposal Writer to work in our ECS HQ is in Fairfax, VA. This is a hybrid/remote position- majority of time position can be supported remotely but applicant will need to come into the Fairfax, VA office as needed.

Job Description:

The Proposal Writer support ECS' growth activities by working closely with the Solution Architect, Proposal Manager, Capture Manager, Proposal Analysts/Copyeditors/Desktop Publishers, Operations management, and other writers and contributors, to put forth a compelling and winning proposal.

The Proposal Writer attends solutioning sessions, led by the Solution Architect, and translates the solution design and Concept of Operation (ConOps) into proposal narrative. The writer also assists with oral proposal slide development as required, helping the team to capture the most important elements of the technical solution within the confines of PowerPoint presentations and orals scripts. Additionally, candidates should be comfortable creating documents that meet compliance requirements, align with sales objectives, and provide clear technical and non-technical information. Key functions of this role include:

* Partners with solution architects, technical SMEs, and account teams to effectively translate solution material into persuasive, understandable, and compliant proposal material* Assists with basis of estimate analysis/narrative and work breakdown structure development* Contributes to the development of storyboards, outlines, and other documentation associated with the proposal development process* Assists in conceptualization of graphics that drive or support written material* Contributes to proposal solutioning and strategy development sessions, asking clarifying questions to proactively guide content development* Curates grows, and update sour team library of approved content, driving and organizing proposal content to maximize reuse effectiveness and utility* Reviews final proposal documents (post Gold Team) for compliance, alignment with win strategy, and writing standards (editing/grammar)* Drives continuous improvement initiatives related to the above responsibilities

Salary Range: $75,000-$115,000 (Commensurate with the experience)

Required Skills:

* 1+ years of professional experience in proposal writing developing compliant, compelling narratives for resumes, past performance, technical and management volumes, as well as supporting documentation (corporate experience, white papers, etc.) to deliver high scoring proposal responses* Understanding of Federal/public sector proposals, including how to craft compliant content based on detailed assessment of the instructions, evaluation criteria, and PWS/SOW* 1+ years of experience of successfully collaborating with company stakeholders across functional competencies and management levels to draft compelling content, incorporating win themes, solution e=lements, discriminators, and proof points* 1+ years of experience reviewing and providing technical writing and editing of material for compliance, content, style, and compliance with internal and industry standards* 1+ years of expertise in conveying concepts and processing in a clear and concise manner* 1+ years of experience working in highly collaborative environments, thinking strategically to organize proposal content according to proposal best practices for ease of evaluation and aligned customer requirements* 1+ years of experience working independently to meet strict, often time-constrained, and customer-driven deadlines* Expert level proficiency with Microsoft Word* Bachelor's Degree.

Desired Skills:

* Experience working on Federal RFxs with diverse scopes of work (DoD, Civilian, Intelligence).* Formal proposal training including Shipley or Lohfeld.* Experience with a wide range of technical subjects to include cybersecurity, data analytics and artificial intelligence.* Certification in relevant technical areas (ITIL, Cloud, SAFe, etc.)
