Salary Range

$23.92 - $43.27/Hourly (Budgeted Hiring Salary Range: $30 - $35/Hourly)

Work Schedule

Hours to be arranged, on-call; non-exempt classification. Temporary position ends on/or before June 30, 2025; may be extended.

Essential Functions

:

As a member of the Strategic Communications team, the incumbent performs a broad range of assignments with major responsibility for contributing to the University's image management, requiring both highly professional photography and production and web authoring abilities. The incumbent will act as a university photographer and will handle an extensive range of photo assignments, as well as multimedia productions for presentations, publications, and the university's presence. Capture and produce high quality images for web, media, and marketing purposes. Oversee image management and organization. Care, maintenance and caretaker of university property. Work as team member in providing resources in fulfillment of public affairs/university objectives. Seek to continually stay abreast of emerging techniques and capabilities. Provide creative input to others. Considerable knowledge of digital capabilities and use of web. Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications & Experience

:

Bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college or university, and at least one year of experience working under deadline projects. Basic knowledge of and skill in still photography and videography. Thorough knowledge of composition, production techniques, and use of photography equipment including Studio lights. Must be familiar with Adobe software, Photo Mechanic, and basic video editing is a plus: Premiere or Final Cut Pro. Must be familiar with capturing high action sports photography and delivering images under deadline. Ability to work some nights and weekends covering athletics/games assignments. Strong research skills and broad knowledge of resources and techniques which communicate information through multimedia productions. Strong organizational skills to coordinate image captioning and familiarity with a DAM (Digital Assets Management) System, like Photo Shelter/Libris. The incumbent must have a demonstrated interest and/or ability in working in a multicultural/multiethnic environment. A background check (including a criminal records check) must be completed satisfactorily before any candidate can be offered a position with the CSU. Failure to satisfactorily complete the background check may affect the application status of applicants or continued employment of current CSU employees who may apply for the position.

Desired Qualifications

:

Sports photography experience, familiar with non-linear editing (NLE) video editing programs.
