Our Mid-Continent Energy business is looking to grow and diversify our offering into areas where we can provide more low carbon solutions for our clients, including Hydrogen, Ammonia, Methanol, RNG, Natural Gas, CO2 and LNG. As such, we are looking for a Sr Technical Director to join our team in Houston, TX to help with the continued development and growth of GHD's Energy Business throughout the region and across the Americas. You will be responsible for leading technical teams and delivering medium to large scale projects within the energy sector, targeting "flagship projects". This role requires a visionary leader with a deep understanding of process engineering associated with clean fuels production, as well as industry trends, project management expertise, and a proven track record of successfully completing complex projects. You will work closely with clients, stakeholders, and internal teams to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. You will also be responsible for assisting with the development of new clients and expanding market share from existing clients in the energy sector.

Working with an energetic and high performing team, this position offers a variety of work and will see you involved in:

* A global organization with the opportunity to work and collaborate across international regions on projects to deliver the highest quality product for our clients.* Energy transition projects ranging from conceptual studies to detailed design with Tier 1 and 2 clients across the energy sector.* Developing and implementing project plans, including resources, budgets, and risk management strategies.* Leading and managing multidisciplinary project teams.* Ensuring projects are delivered according to the agreed scope, schedule, and budget.* Overseeing project budgets, financial performance, and profitability on projects.* Ensuring accurate and timely reporting of project financials.* Implementing cost control measures and optimizing resource allocation across projects.* Identifying and mitigating project risks through proactive planning and management.* Ensuring compliance with industry standards, regulations, and GHD's policies.* Building and maintaining strong relationships with clients, acting as the primary point of contact.* Understanding client needs and providing solutions that meet their objectives.* Ensuring client satisfaction through effective communication and delivery of high-quality services.* Continuous networking with colleagues and peers in the industry.* Contributing to strategic planning and business development activities for our Energy business.* Identifying and pursuing new business opportunities and projects.* Collaborating with senior management to develop and implement growth strategies.

What you will bring to the team:

* Bachelor's in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering, or related field.* Terminal Degree a plus15+ years of technical experience delivering engineering projects within the energy sector.* Strong understanding of process engineering relating to the production and distribution of hydrogen, ammonia and methanol, as well as knowledge of CCUS technologies.* Deep knowledge of technology alternatives and trends in electrolysis is a plus.* Ability to bring lessons learned relevant to owners and developers, derived from giga-scale hydrogen projects in the North American market.* Ability to meet with clients to represent our technical capabilities in the energy space.* Proven track record of successfully delivering medium to large scale, complex projects.* Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.* Strong organizational and time management skills.* Strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities.
