Buck Knives' mission is to create purpose-built knives that perform for generations. Buck Knives is searching for a Digital Producer who can capture our brand's drive and passion, and help share that with our customers. This role would conceptualize, plan, and execute studio and field-based video and still photography, as well as all post-production work required to deliver the final assets across all Buck Knives media platforms. This role requires a high degree of creativity and initiative, self-directed management of daily work priorities, and execution strategies aligned with the larger marketing team. An excellent candidate for this role would have an advanced-level understanding of using visuals to tell stories to engender an emotional connection and excitement. Must have the drive to expand their professional role. A passion for all things outdoors, including hunting, fishing, hiking, and beyond is preferred.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The essential duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

Studio Production - 40%:

Proficiency in camera operations, primarily Canon & Sony, and studio lightingConduct and lead photoshoots for Buck's marketing materials, including product photography, lifestyle photography, ecommerce photography, and video shootsProvide recommendations around the photo shoot look and feel, selecting lens and camera equipment, determining props, costumes and photo designPartner with senior creatives to maintain photo studio, helping determine set up and vital equipmentCapture high-quality and on-brand photos that align with Buck's visual standard

Post Production - 40%:

Proficiency in Photoshop, Premiere, Illustrator, After Effects, Adobe Suite programs as neededGeneral understanding of how to create and use Photoshop pathsUnderstanding of color modes and file types, and associated processesAbility to cut out all new/backlog product photography for B2C, B2B, and Amazon deliverablesColor correction, resizing, exports, and asset media management per individual platform specsDeliver final assets for approval by senior creativesFulfill file-naming and metadata protocols for accurate and complete digital asset storage

Field Production - 20%:

Lead and Assist in field photography/video shoots for lifestyle imageryCapable of carrying gear necessary distances for shoots in remote locationsPartner with senior creatives to source talent and locations for photoshootsField photography/video lighting, bounce, and prop techniquesSome travel required to capture images at brand and community events

SUPERVISORY

This role will have no immediate supervisory responsibilities.

TRAVEL

Approximately 5-10 times a year, both domestic and potential for international, spanning nights, weekends, and holidays.

QUALIFICATIONS

Principles, methods, and theory of visual-based marketing communications; professional production procedures, practices, techniques, and terminologyStudio production, graphics manipulation, lighting, and post-productionAdvanced Adobe Creative Suite knowledge in Photoshop, Lightroom, Bridge, Premier, After Effects, and AuditionProper handling and troubleshooting of production and post-production equipmentSafety practices related to photo and video productionDSLR/Mirrorless camera operations (Preferably with Canon & Sony)Creatively plan and translate abstract concepts and strategies into effective visual formWork with other technical and non-technical staff to organize and complete projectsAdvise staff on effective content generation and communication practicesAbility to adapt work style to fit different audiencesDevelop and optimize workflow techniques to manage projects effectively and efficientlyLift and move equipmentPerform basic repairs on video/photo equipmentResearch solutions and make technical decisionsWrite and speak clearly, concisely, and effectivelyMeet deadlines and manages multiple prioritiesResponds well to critiques and adapts projects accordingly based on team feedbackResearch and remain current on the developments and applications of state-of-the-art video production and photography technologies.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Video Production, Photography, or a similar field preferred or equivalent experience3-5 years; progressively responsible for, and experienced in, a professional production environment, demonstrating competence in content creation, including video and photography, post productionProven track record of creating high-quality, engaging content for consumer product brands and/or public-facing branding in the outdoor space

This role will be onsite in Post Falls, Idaho, with no option for remote.
