Job Summary

As a Large Format Prepress Artist, you will be instrumental in preparing and optimizing files for large format printing. Your role includes ensuring the accuracy and quality of artwork before it goes to print, adjusting files to meet print specifications, and managing the quality control process. You will collaborate with the production team to improve workflows and build press layouts for various machines and substrates.

Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesBasic pre-flighting skills to ensure files are prepared correctly.Adjust native files (usually in Adobe Illustrator) to print specifications, customer requirements, press limitations, and production requirements.Manage quality control of artwork before it goes to print.Assist in workflow and process improvement planning.Build press layouts for various machines and substrates

Requirements

Qualifications - Education, Experience, License/Certifications:Bachelor's Degree in Graphic Design or similar2-3 years experience

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:Proficient in pre-flighting, prepping files, composing, imposition, layouts, ripping to proofs, and general troubleshooting.Advanced proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite v4+ (Acrobat, Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign)Knowledge on large format printers (roll and flatbed printers), roll laminators and two axis digital cutters.Strong working knowledge of digital, offset, and variable data printing processesA sharp eye for content, strong attention to detail, and focus on qualityStrong organizational skills and interpersonal skillsAbility to work independently and with minimum supervisionResponsible, dependable, hard-working, assertive, and the ability to work well under pressure in a fast paced environmentBilingual (Spanish/English) is a plusKnowledge of Esko iCut-Layout and Colorgate RIP software is a plusCompensation:

The base compensation range for this full-time position is $25.00 - $29.00 per hour plus benefits. Compensation ranges are determined by various factors, including role, experience, and location. The pay range displayed reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for this position. Within the range, actual individual compensation is determined by various factors, including location, job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
